COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Impenetrabile color mogano con riflessi rubino. Schiuma cappuccino, aderente allo stile, compatta e persistente.

33cl bottle @ home. Better to sip this alone, I tried it along with some pistacchio chocolate, but the very best of it came after a few sips without it. Pour a black liquid, with shades of brown, head is small but persistent Nose is raw but very interesting, I get ground coffee, tobacco, cocoa, I’d say a little leather and a warm sweet liquorice and dark fruits note after a while. Very harsh and bitter at first sip, it gives its best in the end, with some really slight alcoholic sweetness and a hint of acidity that makes it drinkable. Long pleasant aftertaste. If I was to describe this beer in a word it would be rustic, I had more "elegant" imperial stouts, more chocolatey, but this is one of my favourites.

On tap @ Les Trois 8, Paris - FR. Color: really dark beer with no carbonation and medium ivory head. Smell: malt and roasted malt with back bread and coffee notes. Some brown sugar notes. Taste: caramel domination with coffee and roasted malt. Sugar and sweet sensation. Really complex but good equilibrium not so strong on mouth. Aftertaste: caramel and roasted malt. Coffee and sweet sensation. Really nice, amazing beer. You have a great flavor on mouth and there is no alcohol domination. Great job!!!

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Leighton. Clear dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and dry. Dark malts with cheap candy chocolate. Dry coffee, somewhat earthy. Light dry finish. Not too bad.

Bottle split at Bruce’s Pad, thanks to LKS, 24/06/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate tan swirl and spotting. Nose is coffee, mineral notes, light roast, chocolate, spice, light smoke. Taste comprises earthy tones, coffee rinse, brown bread, miolasses, chocolate, light dirt. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light boozey notes in the close. Solid enough impy, not top of class but an easy sipper.

Bottle shared in London - picked up in Rome about a year ago. Pours brown with frothy beige head. The nose has muddy cocoa, brown bread, earth. Medium sweet flavor with slight coffee, cocoa, mild earthy bitterness, dried berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more cocoa, milk chocolate, mild coffee, light roast, light earth. Simple and straightforward but nice and tasty.

Bottle thanks to L-Dogg. It pours dark brown with a tiny tan head. The nose is acidic, fruit cake, coffee beans, toast and earth. The taste is toasty, earth, coffee grounds, some acidity, roasted malt and dull astringency with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not great...

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2014 33cl bottle in Teku glass. Deep dark mahogany brown colour (almost black but still browny), typical cappuccino thick and creamy beige head. Smells coffee, roasted malts, licorice, a bit of smoke, nuts, dark bread. Taste is on that way but surprisingly even more complex: lots of roasted malts, espresso coffee, smoked wood, dark chocolate, going to a more bitter, licorice and almost spirit/barriqued finish. Soft carbonation, medium bodied and slighlty sticky texture. Long lasting and complex finish, never too much bitter cause of that original final sweet alcohol note which I can’t perfectly define, but that rembers me a sort of whiskey/port barriqued wine sensation (but not boozy! infact alcohol is quite well hidden). Complex and defined Italian Imperial Stout

Bottle, Domus Birrae, Roma. Black looks with a reserved tan head. Aroma was dark malty, roast and coffee. Similar elements comprised the sweetish taste alongside notes of dark chocolate, ash and booze. dried out towards the finish. Decent drop.

Very dark brown with a very thick beige head. Very good aroma with coffee, bitter chocolate, dark fruits, berries, and some fortified wine-like alcoholic notes. Very strong coffee taste, roasted malts, oat, some dough sourness. Long bitter finish, strong coffee aftertaste. Thick mouthfeel. Excellent.
