Impenetrabile color mogano con riflessi rubino. Schiuma cappuccino, aderente allo stile, compatta e persistente.

33cl bottle @ home. Better to sip this alone, I tried it along with some pistacchio chocolate, but the very best of it came after a few sips without it. Pour a black liquid, with shades of brown, head is small but persistent Nose is raw but very interesting, I get ground coffee, tobacco, cocoa, I’d say a little leather and a warm sweet liquorice and dark fruits note after a while. Very harsh and bitter at first sip, it gives its best in the end, with some really slight alcoholic sweetness and a hint of acidity that makes it drinkable. Long pleasant aftertaste. If I was to describe this beer in a word it would be rustic, I had more "elegant" imperial stouts, more chocolatey, but this is one of my favourites.

Lite kullsyre. Forbausende lett-drikkelig. Alkoholen veldig godt kamuflert.

Black colour, minimal beige head. Definitely prominent coffee aroma with some hints of chocolate, caramel and bread . Full-bodied and a little sticky, low carbonation, a bit astringent bitter finish. Not bad but it’s not how an imperial stout should be for me (speaking of that, my favourite one is that made by Rogue).

Thick black body and tan head. Chocolate, dark malts, whole wheat brad, figs. Taste is even more dark with tasty chocolate malts and present bitterness. Pleasent fitting carbonation, mouth filling. Delicious. (33cl bottle from A la bière comme la bière)

330 ml bottle from nabbirra, served in a Teku. Pours a ruby red/dark brown with a huge, fluffy and forever lasting beige head. Looks black in the glass. Wow, magnetic smell: powerful aroma of coffee beans, espresso, dark and rich chocolate, burnt malts, smoke, a shy hint of hops and some light booze. Surprisingly overcarbonated for the style, but perfectly balanced in the mouth, with just the right amount of bitterness and sweetness preceding the moderate alchoolic finish. Medium body and oily texture. I can see this one as a great pairing for a tiramisù or a nice cigar. A shame about the carbonation, but I’d say it’s a minor detail. Recommended.

330ml bottle, 8.5 % abv, recommended when shopping at Johnny’s Off License in Roma one and a half year ago. Shared with Finn. Deep ruby coloured body. Remaining low layer. Dotted spots to the glassware. Smell of coffee grounds on a backbone of earthy malts. Dark malty flavours with solid hints of coffee and chocolate, some anise as well. Roasted bittersweet ending smoothly tingled with an touch of alcohol. Well bodied. Enjoying stuff (Tromsø 27.11.2013).
