330 ml bottle. Vintage 2012. Lotto 212 12. BB 07/2017. From Italy. Courtesy of brandman.
Hazy brown colour with a tiny tan head. The aroma is very weak... surprisingly weak for a 10% barley wine... very sweet. The flavour is also super sweet with some alcohol and mild... nothing... Very sweet and not much more.

Ambrata. Schiuma abbondante e persistente.

Finale leggermente acidulo.

330ml bottle (2012) from Archive Beer Boutique. Layers of colour make this beer visually appealing. The modest foam clings to edge of the glass. Aromas of plums, peaches and nectarines fill the nose. In the mouth the beer is full, smooth and silky with a texture. This is a very good beer.

2011 bottle. An odd one, not without it’s charm, but also too young and immature to hang with yet. Big honey wine nose. Medicinal with LOTS of alcohol. Peach, apricot, marmalade, but it never really comes together. Give this a few more years.

2012 bottle, 10% ABV. Hazy amber with a coat of beige head that never quite disappears. Aroma of Seville orange marmalade, coriander, dough, peaches, grappa. Syrupy, low carbonation. Bittersweet citrus flavours - boiled bitter oranges, old lemons, orange zest, , apricots, spices, medicinal herbs. Fairly boozy, but not hot. A bit Italian digestif-like, which - whilst not very surprising - is charming. Good.
