3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (6737) - Antwerpen, - MAR 12, 2011
Again near-explosively lively beer, totally hazed & yeast in suspension, dark orange under a towering yellow, dense head, very slowly collapsing. Glühwein spices, if mild, and lots of fruit(esters), mainly citrus; and thinned palmhearts of ditto artichokehearts. Sweat, citrus; faint acidity surrounding a serious, if unsweet maltbase. Spiced/yeasty finish, but not specifically Glühwein spices, if clovey indeed. Slick, bit buttery texture, heavy to overcarbonated, spritzy. Breadyeast in the aftertaste. Extratripel, compared to that one. Mille grazie, ragazzi!

33cl bottle, shared by ryan: pours a hazy dark golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a sweet biscuity light malty sweetness with some light fruity esters. Starts with pretty good fullness and rich pale malty sweetness with some licorice and clove spice before a slightly warming bready finish. Well-balanced and fairly complex.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GT2 (3971) - Washington DC, USA - APR 15, 2012
330mL. Hazy golden pour. Thick buttermilk head. Sweet yellow apple nose with spices and lemon sorbet. Taste is richer with tangy apple pie. Richer abbey Tripel notes with dark cherry and figs. Good stuff. A sweet beer with delicate complexities. Good stuff. Rich, oily palate with a blend of dark fruit and citrus. Amazed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Vinegar92 (56) - Matera, ITALY - JAN 5, 2012
Birra chiara, arancione. Schiuma non persistente. Aroma particolare, dolce.. quasi di legno... Gusto molto dolce, forse troppo. Da bere con calma, da accompagnare con qualche stuzzichino. Il finale riporta molto al miele.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 PatBateman81 (156) - Caserta, ITALY - DEC 31, 2011
Bottle 33 cl @ Karhisma Birroteca (Piedimonte Matese, Caserta - Italy). A pale orange colour, with cassock and yellow reflexes. Aroma is the classic belgian (or Extraomnes?) spiced, but not boring and complex since all the components are balanced: cloves, coriander, fresh fruit (pear and peach), alcohol, herbs, liquor. Body is medium to full, and perfectly carbonated. I don’t understand all the ratings that state this beer as too much carbonated, maybe they don’t had it at the right temperature? Mouthfeel is extremely pleasant, loads of sugar, candy fruit, toffee, peach and lemon peel. Finish is moderatly bitter, oriented towards orange and citrus. Very balanced Xmas beer, Extraomnes works well and it’s not a belgian bastard copy.

Bottled 330ml (PBF, BB 11/2012)
Hazy dark orange color, huge cloudy off-white head. Berryish, a bit spicey aroma. Medium-bodied. Very sweet, berryish flavor with Belgian-.style yeastyness and some burning alcohol (mostly sweetness overrides it). Some peppery notes too.
