3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer pours a dark reddish-brown color with a medium foamy tan head that dissipates gradually. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of malt and dark fruit. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malt, earthy yeast and raisins. The finish is slightly syrupy and fruity with a malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled 330ml from Italy. Dark ruby color, mostly vanishing head. Plums and candy sugar in the nose. Medium to full-bodied. Sweet, candy sugary, plums and raisins, some alcohol, especially in the aftertaste. Unfortunately also some vegetably notes, perhaps from yeast. Decent abt with aging potential.

Tasting at Bruceís pad. Very hazy brown beer with a tidy pale tan head. Light palate, slightly soft and with modest fine carbonation. Light lactose and caramel. Mellow ripe fruits. Smooth finish. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy deep amber with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is wood, earth, vanilla, dark fruits, toffee, honeycomb and candyfloss. The taste is wood, toffee, candy, sweet dark fruit, berry, light alcohol and honeycomb. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Perhaps a touch sweet, but a decent quad anyhow.

Bottle cheers to Leighton. Dirty brown pour with a small khaki head which lasts leaving ok lacing. Nose is full of stewed dark fruit - raisin, sultana. Very sticky caramelised focus to it and some sweet toffee biscuit. Taste almost resembles melted caramel with leafy hops, light spice, egg white and butterscotch. Ok

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at Bruceís in London - this one I got in Rome. Pours mostly clear amber-brown with a frothy tan head. The nose has ripe fruits, apples, light toffee. Medium to big sweet flavor with more ripe fruits, stewed apples, berries, liquid sugars, toffee. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with bread, toffee, ripe fruits, caramel, light orange. Good stuff, interesting character. Very drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Birrivico, Como, bb 31.05.16, batch 136 13
Dark brown color nearing black, with medium sized frothy head. Mild aroma of caramel, with very light fruitiness from the fermentation, and even less cabbage (but it fits in). Full bodied, lean, with caramel flavor offering light dark chocolate notes, elegant peppery yeast, and almost a fruity impression; moderate, balanced sweetness, and correct bitterness too.
This beer perfectly captured the essence of a Trappist Abt beer, and itís ready to drink now even if bottled just 4 months ago. Iím just willing to try it again in after some aging.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from GBBF 2013 drunk at home. Very dark brown beer almost black with a lasting beige head. Itís a toasty Bovril, beefy tasting quad. I mean itís quite beefy in the flavour. I mean I donít think Iíve had something like this before. It is like drinking cold beery Bovril. Crazy.
