MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: sweet malts first, bit of sugar, fruity touch, then chemical and grassy bitterness, some grapefruit. Aftertaste: quite some spices, citrus, very dry bitter ending, alcohol is noticeable.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Courtesy Slayer85. 33cl bottle. Lott 080 11. Best by March 2013. The body is a cloudy, darkish, blazing orange-amber color with a thick, billowing head of fat-bubbled, spongy froth. The head takes ages to recede, leaving dense clumps of lace all over the glass. The first note to hit the nose is that of sweet apple cider. That apple-like scent persists, and it is joined by blonde candy sugar, pan fried banana, soft clove, and other mulling spices. Coriander and peppery yeast lend an air of dryness, though it largely remains sweet and fruity overall. Flavors follow suit, showing loads of sweet, overly ripe, blond orchard fruit, along with browned banana and dark spice. Candied orange peel melds into sweet apple liquor. Coriander is mild for a tripel, yet present nonetheless. Yeast is doughy and floral. The palate is weighty and initially syrupy, moving towards a drier mid point and finish, but leaving a sticky sugar residue behind. It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of tripel, and this one is no exception.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2012 Lot 196-11, best before 07-2013Big golden fruit nose, lots of peach, pear and apple, some peppery yeast and a bit of cotton candy. The taste is light to moderately sweet, tons of fresh herbs, lots of apricot, honey and candi sugar. Very soft texture, carbonation is lively, but gentle. Very well made.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
hazy gold, frothy white head with moderate lacing. Super Complex nose, heavy fig and breadcrust highlighted by peach, pear, caramel. Awesome balance of sweetness and spice, de dolle esque. Flavor is sugary pear at front, toast and crust mid palate, finish lightly peppery, dry, not quite the fruit depth and balance of nose, finish light peach, pineapple, and toast. Still wonderfully delicate stuff despite being so sweet.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Big fruity aroma is the first thing that you notice when you pour this beer. Also some pepper and cloves in the aroma. Strong honey amber colour with a lazy swirling head of foam. Awesome flavour with a slight alcohol burn in the back of the throat. Good mouthfeel that is full and smooth, this is a very good beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 8C. Hazy gold with a white head that fades to a good coat. Doughy aroma with oranges, pineapple, vanilla, cardamon, pear drops. Creamy texture, lowish carbonation for a tripel (which is fine). Moderate but very fruity sweetness with spices, bitterness creeps up and then departs. Lingering spices. Was expecting rambunctious, but this is along classic balanced lines. Very good.
