Hazy brown with a lasting head. Very fruity raspberry aroma. Dry and just slightly tart raspberry flavour. Not very sour or funky, but an incredible fruit flavour, and surprisingly fresh.

Anker (723) - Hillerød, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2009
On tap at Plan b, 22 years old. Hazy red brown body with a forever lasting off white head. Aroma is sweet raspberries almost syrup like, with slight notes of malt and wood. The flavor is dry, tart and lovely. At first sour raspberries hits the tongue then a dim taste of wood joins in, very smooth and balanced with a long and pleasant aftertaste of raspberries. Simply astonishing of an brew this old !!

Small sample from Plan/B , Copenhagen who had a single keg of this. Though the sample was very little I remember the taste and feel quite well. Extremely muddy orange with a small white head. Lots of wood with sour and fresh raspberries. Some caramel, fruit and a good deal of tartness and oak. Smooth and medium palate. Amazingly fresh and top notch considering this is probably 20 years old.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2009 89’ Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Draft. Sour raspberries hits the nose along with wood, hay and candy drops. Flavour was quite tart with raspberries, lemons, barnyard, wood and leather. Finished deliciously tart. Very fresh raspberries despite the age. Absolutely amazing!

Bottle 75cl. [ My Rating #6000 ]
[ Vintage 1989 ]. Clear medium to light dark orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate light heavy raspberry, wood, caramel, vintage, oxidid malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. Bottle into tulip. 1989 vintage. Crazy-ass lambic tasting in our hotel room, GABF 2007. Thanks to cquiroga for bringing this one. Dusting of white on top of a glowing ruby orange in the glass. Smell is warm and jammy, with raspberries. On the first sip, I have pictured in my mind raspberries being eaten in slow-mo and sepia tone: it’s not bright and full, mellowed, but very nicely realized. This is balanced by earthy things: twigs, dust, and dirt, all fibrous and dark under the medium and somewhat watery body. Finish lingers a small bit, but there’s not much there. Definitely oxidized a bit on the end, but I don’t mind it much.
