UPDATED: OCT 2, 2006 (Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm 27 April) – Vintage 89 - Huge creamy head lasting trough, leaving very beautiful laces on an unclear brown body; Incredible nose with loads of everything, fresh from sweet overripe raspberry together with oak, vanilla, brown sugar. This is simply amazing!; Very nice body, it could be more powerful, but has a superb balance and loads of complexity, it has a quite soft texture, could be a little more sour; The sourness explodes in the finish (not in the Cantillon way, but again in a very balanced way), which is super long with loads of aroma. THIS BEER IS SIMPLY FANTASTIC and I will never get enough of it.

1987

Head: none
Colour: slightly murky burgundy red
Smell: raspberrys, bit sweet , tiny bit tart
Taste: start is fruity with tart notes, tart is away fast tough and makes place for a slight but not unpleasant sweetness and malty flavour. end is fruity with tarty / woody notes , great beer altough i can accept the fact that it was probabbly better 20 years ago !

37,5 cl Bottle @ Kulminator, Antwerp. Vintage 1987!! Dark amber coloured beer with no carbonation and almost no head. Light fruity and woody (fruit stone) light tart fruity hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is light fruity, raspberry with a very short tart hinted. Lost some sharpness in the palate, little soft but ending is developing light tart, woody and dry hinted. Very nice smouth fruity balanced, and kept perfectly. Unique.

Naturligvis en ganska gammal doft, men med tydlig bärton. Helt utan kolsyra och med en aning papp. Ändå kan man fortfarande känna fruktigheten. Undrar på hur den var som ny....

Bottle at Kulminator in March 2012. (Vintage 1987) 10 EUR for a bottle, 37,5cl. Clear deep red with no head. Light notes of raspberries in the aroma, more in the taste. Also wood and something sweet. No sourness to talk about. Still fresh and very, very drinkable, almost like juice. It’s not every day that I drink a 25 year old beer, a beer that still taste very good.

At Plan B - Copenhagen. Thanks to Kim Johansen for getting me on to this beer! Clear amber beer. A little dry on the palate. Fresh and tart. Peachy as much as it is raspberry. Remarkably fresh for it’s age - would have never have known this was 22 years old. That said I’m not getting the same swivel eyed pleasure as some out of this. Decent nontheless.

fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - AUG 4, 2009
Draught at Plan B, 20 years old (1989 apparently), last keg!
Cloudy red-amber color; small head.
Delicate aroma of ripe raspberries, vanilla, flowery cologne, talcum powder. It has a medium body strength; perfect blend of residual sweetness and sourness, with a fresh fruity touch, sweet raspberries in the front and just more aggressive lemon at the end, candies.
After such harmonius flavor, by contrast the palate is more coarse, with citrus tartness and a light obvious astringency.
Perfect. Amazing how it can keep the balance after so many years.

Sampled from a 22 year old keg@Plan B, Copenhagen. Soft carbonated, slightly hazed orangey-brown body. Virtually no head. Very fresh, genuine fruity raspberry aroma. Soft, but distinct fruit flavor. Loads of fresh raspberries, well rounded with a mild fruity tartness and a some discreet sour-sweet tones. Lasting raspberry finish. Very inviting with an amazing freshness.

Draught at plan b. Cloudy dark red colour. Big stable creamy tan head. Fruity berry aroma. Very good acidity, sour but not vinegary. Sweet berry flavour, but very well balanced. Like good sour saftevand.

Hazy brown with a lasting head. Very fruity raspberry aroma. Dry and just slightly tart raspberry flavour. Not very sour or funky, but an incredible fruit flavour, and surprisingly fresh.
