Cloudy reddish brown color, off white head. Aroma reminds me of cherry chewable vitamin c. Flavor is a bit of old cherries, a bit stale and oxidized. Sour and sweet both. But more sweet.

1987 bottle shared by Bobby at the Grand Tasting 2012 LA. Brownish red. Nice lush cherry nose. Not funky. Flavor is pretty decent cherry, though not very interesting as a lambic. Aged well, though, and very smooth.

Pours a murky brownish-red color with little to no head. Sweet cherry aroma, cardboard oxidation, a light tartness, and sugar. A light woodiness, maybe some vinegar. The flavor is sweet and sugary. Decent cherry flavor, lots of cardboard, a touch of vinegar to go with the more acidic sourness.

Bottle @ Kulminator, Antwerp as Eylenbosch Kriek Cuvee Speciale. Vintage 1987. Hazy reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malty, cherries and oxidated. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 240712

Another of the 1987 bottles at the Kulminator.

Pours a deep reddish brown with a small well retained head.

The aroma is funky and fruit forward with a mild woodiness.

The flavor is very fruity, a bit too sweet but tart and lightly sour, lots of cherry flavor, lightly earthy.

After trying that old bottle of the Eylenbosch Gueuze two years ago at the Ratebeer Summer Gathering I was a little bit surprised that this was a sweetened beer, not nearly as surprised as I was at how this sweetened lambic, as old as my brother didn’t taste very "old" or stale at all, it was really rather pleasant.

Bottle @ Kulminator (1987). Still very good Kriek. Fruity, red colour, white head. A little bit too sweet maybe.

Eylenbosch Kriek Lambic Cuvée Spéciale Vintage 1987 @ Kulminator. Darkish red coloured beer with some medium carbonation and a small but fastly diminishing whitehead. Sweet cherry fruity almost cherry candy hinted aroma with a very distent fruitsour hint but surprisingly sweet. Medium to full palate. Finish is light fruity cherry hinted, of the edge of being flat altough surprisingly stable for a 25 year old beer. Though it is at the end of its lifetime.

1987 Vintage // 37.5 cl. dusty bottle @ Kulminator // unfortunately this one was a sweet one & not a sour one, not sure really why there are still so many bottles of this one floating around, maybe the production used to be huge? // taste is pretty standard for a seriously aged sweetened sour beer // appearance is blood red ruby, clearly reveals its age, head, is just some mould looking bubbles // smells like sweet mouldy jam, cough syrup, cherries with a dash of raspberries // smell is cherry syrup, jam, cough syrup, quickly blending into mould, decay, sewage water, routing carpets, old aspartame, its holding up quite well but it has definitely decayed quite a bit // body is slightly thinned out by age // not bad after a while all this sweetened sour beers, all kind of get to the same place, its better to get an old bottle of Liefmans Kriek which are pretty fantastic at this point still

Interessant! Vielen Dank an kappldav123 für das Bier! Test vom 1.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: -,11,12,11,11,11 - 11,16
