3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
1987 Vintage // 37.5 cl. dusty bottle @ Kulminator // unfortunately this one was a sweet one & not a sour one, not sure really why there are still so many bottles of this one floating around, maybe the production used to be huge? // taste is pretty standard for a seriously aged sweetened sour beer // appearance is blood red ruby, clearly reveals its age, head, is just some mould looking bubbles // smells like sweet mouldy jam, cough syrup, cherries with a dash of raspberries // smell is cherry syrup, jam, cough syrup, quickly blending into mould, decay, sewage water, routing carpets, old aspartame, its holding up quite well but it has definitely decayed quite a bit // body is slightly thinned out by age // not bad after a while all this sweetened sour beers, all kind of get to the same place, its better to get an old bottle of Liefmans Kriek which are pretty fantastic at this point still

Interessant!
Vielen Dank an kappldav123 für das Bier!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2012 Kriek Lambic Cuvée Spéciale - bottle 37.5 cl - cuvée of 1980 (estimated) - expiry date = July 1990.
Eye: Amber, light orange - thin head, dissolving quickly
Nose: very gentle kriek nose left, some kirsch, hint of madeira and a little wood
Mouth: fresh sweet start, Rumtopf impressions in the middle (Rumtopf = cherries on strong alcohol), little aftertaste.
Conclusion: I bought a stack of about 50 bottles of Eylenbosch and old Belle-Vue, all kept in a cellar for 30 years. It is incresible how well these beers stay drinkable. Wow!
------ 28/07/2012. Rated it down from 4.2 to 3.5.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A kriek that tastes like a nice sweet cheery fruit ale
How: Bottle 375ml. Given to me by JorisPPattyn. Age unknown. Old. Very old. Very very old. Thanks a lot for this rare opportunity Joris!
The look: Cloudy dark red with almost no head
In long: Despite the age of the bottle I was surprised by the fresh cherries nose accompanied by a little dusty attic. Not much funkiness or lambic character. Almost none at all actually. Taste is a bit disappointing. Much like the nose the taste has lots of fresh cherries, it is a bit sweet, woody notes that resemble construction wood. Body is very juicy and the carbonation is almost flat. Funk level is low and so is acidity and sourness. Overall the beer was drinkable, even if not much of a kriek. But this bottle was so old that maybe it was more of a true Kriek many many years ago. I don’t know the age of the bottle I drank but I suspect that it was bottled many many years ago back when I considered being spanked a punishment and I didn’t like it.

Ölet i sig var gammalt men extremt läskande. Jag hade utan problem kunnat svepa glaset, ingen kolsyra och ingen syrlighet.

On tap at Akkurat in September 2010. (Vintage 1989)
Hazy red with no head. Sweet aroma of cherries with some light funk. Very dry and refreshing to drink, no carbonation and a very light sourness. Incredible to have the possibility to drink beer like this in Stockholm, thanks to Akkurat I love you!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught, Vintage 1989 @ Akkurat. Ap: Hazy red-brown. Small white head. Ar: Sweetness of cherries mixed with sourness of ammonia. Fla: Sour cherries, some sweetness, dry in finish. Ov: Medium bodied. Acidity, almost corroding fluid due to the ageing and powerful carbonation. Very refreshing!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at Akkurats reopening, the second last keg from 1989. Small head. Color of straweberry soda. The aroma is more like a cassis than a kriek but the cherries are there toghether with almonds. Realy dry kriek with a perfect acidity and lingering fruit. Just a perfect summer drink.
