omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 26, 2003 1989 version sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Brownish red. Balsamic black cherry aroma. Fresh cherryish fruit sweetness balanced by tart acidity. Still so fresh after years! Wonderfully balanced citric acid finish. Perhaps not very complex, but extremely tasty and intense.
Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 4, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) My version at 4,3% ABV. Reddish brown with a nice head. Cherry-aroma is not very dominant, which is a pity really. Rather dry - all the fruit-sugars must have fermented. Slight tartness - very refreshing. 280597 joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 1, 2006 Updated: Oct 2, 2006Draught at Akkurat, 1989-vintage.
Dark red coloured with a creamy off white head.
Aroma of cherries and wood.
Flavour of cherries, marzipan, cherry stones and wood.
Dry finish. oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Oct 4, 2006 Bottled, 1989 vintage (thanks joergen for sharing!). Murky brownish red colour, small off-white head. Just wonderful aroma of sweet cherries. Totally filled the nose cavities (and my head!). Flavour is cherries and dry dark fruits. Lovely thing, considering it’s age! Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 6, 2005 First off, thanks to Jeppe for this rarity. This shows best before 1993! I fear your bottle won’t be too good based on what I’ve tried. It looks orangey like the sunset with neglectable head. The nose and appearance both reminds of pineapple juice with suggestions of honey, must, vegetal tones, old cushions (I truly do mean it, more than any other aromas perhaps), old books, but SWEET and this kills it. Oldish dusty cherries are not far from gone completely. Palate is juicy and comprises more cherry character, but in a very sweet way with absent acidity. Oldish taste, lots of residual red licorice taste, pure old mousse over rocks, earthy and lightly oxidized Madeira notes. No carbonation left, just sweet juice.
