thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Sep 20, 2008 From bottle at In de Wildeman. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Banana aromas and flavours, in the mouth also toffee. Fizzy. To be quite honest, I had higher expectations. BeerBiker (1209), Odense, Denmark Sep 10, 2008 [Bottle from Bamberg.] Mainstream dunkelhefe in the upper scale from BeerGebiet. Notes of banana, yeast, wheat, bubblegum, some metallic straw, caramel, but had expected more of this weiss. sebletitje (372), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 28, 2008 50cl on tap, Fassla brewery Bamberg.
After enjoying a lot of good brews in the old Bbamberg district, I was rather disapointed in what we got at Fassla.
Pours light brown with white head. Aroma of pils with light caramel malts.
Taste is caramel malts, with a metalic pils mouthfeel. Slightly bitter hops.
Beer is boring and weak. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Feb 16, 2008 Bottle at St Albans Beer Festival, September 2007. Murky dark brown colour. Lots of caramel. The estery characteristics are fairly subdued. Decent but a shade uninspiring.
reakt (838), Greater London, England Oct 26, 2007 Bottle @ St Albans BF. Chestnut coloured with an off white head. Bubblegum nose with a bit of refried beans, yeast and malt. Malt, yeast and a bit of cocoa in the taste with a subtle smokey note. Quite nice.
