thewolf (3651), Kolding, Denmark Aug 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep brown with red edges. Small, creamy, light-beige head. Sweet aroma, some light chocolate and a touch of smoke. Ganske højt karboneret, lidt tynd. Smagen er ret sød, tør ristet og ganske grainy. Sød finish. Okay. shrubber85 (2511), Wallhalben, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany Jul 30, 2008 Bottle. Chocolate covered cherry malt aroma. Dark brown color with minimal head. Slightly smokey chocolate malt. Watery finish. Decent flavor - on the light side. asheft (820), Marburg, Germany Jun 25, 2008 [bottle]
Roasty aroma: vanilla, sherry, red cherries, chocolate, coffee, butterscotch. Almost opaque clear garnet with a rapidly dropping tan cover. More or less standard stout flavour: burnt roastiness combined with a mouth filling possibly oatmeal chewiness. Hint of bourbon/vanilla in te finish. Modest bitterness and dark malt tang blend well. Perceptible hops. Full body, moderate carbonation, lingering roast flavour. austone (334), Turku; Pori, Finland May 18, 2008 Dark brown to black, lacing beige head. Nose is roasted syrupy malts, little fruitiness and raisins. Roasted malty flavor with syrupy prunes. Finishes mildly bitter. Medium bodied, quite smooth palate. Sweet and vinous stout, much better than what I expected.
