TaxiDriver (547), Stadland, Germany Sep 17, 2008 Bottle. Sweet, a little bit of coke, malty. A small off-white creamy head, black body. Quite bitter start and finish with a medium duration. A dry and light creamy texture with a soft carbonation and a medium body. A good sour Dunkel. pivnizub (3899), Porúří, Germany Jun 13, 2008 Bottle (purchased at the Brauerei): Clear, chestnut-amber coloured, slowly collapsing "dirty" foam; sweetish caramelly nose with a good dash of roasted malt and a faint tinge of hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; almost lingering, not so sweet caramelly-bitter finish. Unspectacular, but nevertheless pleasant Dunkel............ MoritzF (3926), Ruhrpott, Germany Oct 1, 2007 (bottle, as Zum Schwarzen Roß Dunkel, with thanks to Don Michele !) Clear, mahogany colour with a mid-sized tanned foamy head. Sweet toast-malty nose with caramel, cacao and a light touch of dried fruits. Burnt bitterness in the flavour, earthy and leafy, solid toasted malty taste with caramel. Quite dry roasty bitter and slightly hoppy finish. Not an overwhelming but likeable Dunkel.
