Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 12, 2000 tiggmtl (4169), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 31, 2006 Chocolate and nutty malts in the sweet and simple aroma. Clear dark copper coloured body is topped by a thin off white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Chocolate malt flavour, some caramel some nuttiness. Mild herbal hops are apparent. Light-medium finishing bitterness. Perhaps a touch of roast in the aftertaste. Thin and watery body detracts greatly from overall enjoyment especially when paired with strong but short-lived carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 2, 2005 Deep amber/brown colour, thin tan head. Fruit and toasted malt. Cherry and semi-sweet caramel. Some plumminess as well. Lubiere (3184), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2006 Dark golden to brown ale with a thin dissolving white head, a bit lifeless when poured. Light oxidized malt with nutty notes in aroma. In mouth, light sweet malt with light nuttyness and roastiness in final, with bitter chocolate, not very hopped, thinner than expected.
