On tap at the Golden Kiwi as the ’Kiwi Lager’. Apparently this is what it is. Taps your standard pale gold with a tiny white surface film. The aroma is really just faint sweet grains and wort. Not bad. But the flavour is where this one really shines. Absolutely delicious bready/grainy wortyness that generally is the aspect of lagers that makes me drool, very tasty. Some nice lemony hop zing added balance in the finish. Easy going mouth-feel though it was served perhaps just a few degrees too low. Carbonation is moderate enough that it didn’t annoy me like it usually does with ’light’ beers. Tasted like a perfectly fresh brewed bready worty lager which is something I take much pleasure in.

2007 Golden Tap Awards. Crisp pale yellow body with a small white head. Sweet floral, butter cup aroma. Similar floral hop character in the flavour, moderate hop bitterness throughout. (6+) Average palate. Decent pilsener/lager, excellent for a "light" beer.

[539-20070818] Sample @ BeerBistro (Golden Taps, Toronto, ON). Freshly baked grainy bread yeast aroma is lightly floral. Clear, pale yellow body with a long-lasting foamy white head. More freshly baked bread yeast in the flavour. Light body. A surprisingly nice light beer!

Bottle sample at the 2007 GTAs. Pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of bready malt and light floral hops - quite nice, and more than I expected. Crisp body. Well balanced flavour, with a nice twinge of hops in the finish. Quite a surprise for a light beer.

On tap at Golden Kiwi as Kiwi Lager. Pours bright golden yellow, with small, fine white head. Nice, mild hop aroma, and very drinkable, balalnced flavour. A decent lager.

Veyr nice, quite sweet, with those features of the Ontario beers I like. According to the barman, this beer is going to be renamed to Stonehammer light. Meanwhile I rate it with this name.

Bottle [341ml] at The Brewers Plate event. Pours a clear, bubbly pale gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma’s surprisingly not too shabby: It’s light but also quite fruity, a bit sweet, along with some grassy hops and caramel malt. Flavour’s the same, fruity along with caramel malt, some grain, very light grassy hops and a light, short bitter finish. Average bodied. One of the better Canadian Light beers I’ve tried -- well done.

Bottle, Pretty flavourful for a light beer, it smells nice of grains and a bit of hops. the flavour is grainy and really quite impressive. Good offering

341ml bottle. White head that diminished quickly. A pale golden colour. Clear. Aromas of candied peach, apple pie. Tastes of corn, and straw. Odd faint finish of spinach. Yes, spinach. White grape juice too. Clean and crisp though. Medium bitterness. Not really my style, but alright for a light beer.
