A spicy pilsner with a very rich, full, and more than pleasant aroma. I found on my first encounter, that I was somewhat repelled by the bold flavour, but with the cold winter approaching, am becoming more fond of this robust brew.

Deep golden color with frothey white head. Clean, slightly grassy hop aroma and some biscuit. Flavor is crisp, with a hint of malty sweetness finishing with the mild hoppy bite. Yum

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2010 [449-20070726] Tap @ Rebel House (Toronto, ON). Medium malty aroma with a hint of fruity apple. Clear, golden orange body with a quick white creamy head. Medium hoppy flavour has toasted malt. Medium body. Nice blend if a little boring. (6/2/7/3/11) 2.9

[620B-20070916] Sample @ Feast of Fields (Hillsburgh, ON). Floral yeast aroma, like sweet mango. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Fruity yeast continues in flavour. Light body. Still quite nice. (6/2/7/3/12) 3.0

[3383B-20100924] Cask. Mild ginger spice aroma has some odd plastic chinese noodles. Slightly hazy, light orange yellow body with a long-lasting bubbly white head. Kind of bland noodles. Medium body. Despite the odd notes, it does have balance and is fairly drinkable. (6/3/7/3/13) 3.2

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2009 Not bad, nothing spectacular, but enjoyable. Nice hops, with a decent pils malt backbone. It’s nice on a warm summer evening. Actually quite crisp and delicious when fresh as in keeping with the style. Nice cereal grain quality to it on tap, though this at times almost comes off like cherrio’s. Still, in another world compared to anything macro. A very well-done semi-local brew that I could drink boat-loads of over the summer, and is never a bad choice on tap, especially at places with nothing better.

draft at bow and arrow in toronto. clear golden with white head, it has sour dough aroma with hint of grapefruit. it is a bit yeasty, but has a unique accent of blended olive and malt. pleasant to drink.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2007 341 ml bottle - pours pale greenish gold with delicate champagne-like effervessence and a fluffy white cap. Pretty nice Saaz aroma is balanced very nicely with a sweet malt backbone and some yeast. Taste much the same with a crisp, dry finish. Well-balanced. Good.

More of a decent American lager than a pilsner. Not so bad as such but just not as clean or defined as say Neustadt Lager. Certainly lacks hoppy detail for a pilsner, there is some bitterness but it lacks the floral dimensions. Not a go-back beer for me.

Light blonde looks like any other pilsener, but has a reasonably complex and full flavour. Some malt and a nice refreshing finish.
