Thanks to Joey Capps. Not much of an aroma - some sweet cereal. Overy sweet and herbal. Reminds 40’s purchased from the corner store.

on tap at the castle on king. pale yellow with some white head. some lacings. i neither paid for or enjoyed to majority of this half pint. aroma of grainy malt and floral noble hops. minimal. served in optimal condition and very fresh. this is a micro beer trying to go macro, ala wellington trail head. not in any way bad but still far from good. THX FOR THE FRESH SAMPLE CASTLE ON KING!! YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!!!!

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
draught. very light, golden (almost white) body with a small white head. light subtle grass aroma...nothing else. this is really bland and uninteresting - seems to be a trend this evening. light grassy hops also some astringent sweet grains. slight sour notes in the finish. sub-par.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasty and refreshing. On tap at the Winking Judge in Hamilton, Ontario. Sparkling gold body accompanied by a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Flavour is sweet and more lagery than pilsnery. (Am I allowed to say lagery and pilserny?) Decent.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from LCBO. Pours clear and yellow, with very little head. Aroma has some skunkiness, and grassy/fruity hops. Somewhat bland taste; some decent hops, with no detectable bitterness. Nothing wrong with this one, but nothing special about it either.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I deleted my review of this beer from last year because I felt that the changes done to it, basically, made it a whole new beer....so a new review is in order.
I am aware the brewer is now using soft spring water and better hops in reformulating this German style pils. It certainly had a great deal of impact as this is now one of the tastiest ( if not the best) Ontario micro pils.
Poured into my glass as a pale straw, slightly hazed lager with a nice fluffy white cap that lasts and laces the glass well. Champagne-like carbonation with spirals of small bubbles coming of the glass bottom. The nose is filled with a pleasant blend of musty fruits, herbs and sweet bready malt aromas. Medium-light body has good malt pronouncement balanced well with herbal hops and a unique musty fruit tone ( from the yeast). The finish is lightly bready and very citrusy with a slight bittering aftertaste.
A very pleasnat blend of tastes, very drinkable and satisfying for those who like malt accented Gernam pilsners. This will be a standard summer quaff for me.
