3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2009 On tap at the Woolwich Arms in Guelph The aroma was funky honey
pours a pale ambernot much head or lacing The taste was fairly mild and i am unsure whether the keg was old or not so this one will need to be revisited at some point
Ok tasting number two wow what a difference
330ml bottle from the brewery courtesy of Lisa
Pours a orangey amber with a small white head
The aroma is awesome for pilsner
Honey and malts
The taste has that familiarity of F & M about it
Honey and I don’t know but wow is it good one of the best pilsners I have ever had

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ C’est What. Supposedly a new formulation? Scent is yeasty, some apple cider vinegar. Overly sweet up front, but a very long hoppy finish. Excellent lacing. A fine local example.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
341ml bottle. Pours a very light yellow, minimal head. Aromas of honey, white grape, peach. The taste is white grape too, slightly grassy. Sweet finish, a little pencil lead, with faint bitter hops. I’m not a lager guy, but this is pretty decent. Would buy again when the weather turns warm.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
341 mL bottle. Pours gold with a lacy white cap. Grainy malt with straw and toasty barley. Lightly sweet without as much bitterness as I expect for the style. A hint of herb like hop. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2007 341 ml bottle - pours pale greenish gold with delicate champagne-like effervessence and a fluffy white cap. Pretty nice Saaz aroma is balanced very nicely with a sweet malt backbone and some yeast. Taste much the same with a crisp, dry finish. Well-balanced. Good.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught @ Hostex: My due diligence warning - tasting this the day after King’s Pils at the brewery is probably not going to bode well for Stonehammer. Pours nice - vibrant yellow, good carbonation, with a bountiful marshmallow white head. Aroma is of fruit, perhaps apple, with malt. Flavour is very dry with adequate hoppy bitterness, and splashes of sweetness to balance things out. Quite accessible as a pale lager, but not terribly true to style.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle poured into footed pilsner glass. Golden yellow colour. Aroma and taste is dominated by straw, grains, cereals. Also some soft fruits. Too little hops for my taste. Ok beer, but nothing I would seek out.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This seemed like a bad ale to me not a Pilsener. Thin head. Malty, almost roasty aroma. Too sweet and lacking character.
