On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is vanilla, coffee, something artificial. Taste is sweet, artificial sweet, vanilla syrup, coffee syrup. Reminded me a of fake vanilla latte slurpee which sounds good but ultimately is pretty gross.

On tap @ Faction. Slightly hazed golden orange pour with thick white foam. A lot of coffee and spices on the aroma. Sort of a dark chocolate note, hints of licorice, and some creamy vanilla. Mild caramel malts as well. The flavor has a bit more of a licorice note to it. A lot of coffee and vanilla, though. A fairly heavy dose of caramel and sweet chocolate. Maybe a bit of orange peel. The anise really comes through more as it sits.

>> Thanks DTF for the share. Clear amber pour, great white foam. Nose is pure sugarcane. Taste is pure sugar, tea, cloyingly sweet. Way too sweet, not much coffee character, no anise. Disappointing.

On nitro at The Local Beer Bar in Eureka, CA. .Came gold in the glass with a white head Nose of chocolate. Medium in body. Flavor of chocolate which seems unusual in such a light colored beer. Lots of subtle flavors abound. Finish is somewhat sweet. Interesting and quite easy drinking

One of the most unique beers we have had. Pours a clear yellow with a thick white head. Smells of cream, vanilla, coffee and Graham cracker. Extremely creamy taste with more cream, Graham and a candy cane hint in the finish. Tastes like a dark stout, looks like a pale ale. Had on tap at the brewery.

Draft on nitro at Farmer’s Union in San Jose, CA. A nice white billowy head as expected from a beer on nitro. Big roasted chocolate nose. Very creamy mouthfeel. Malt, caramel, chocolate, a bit sweet. Nice and fun.

16 oz sample on tap at Preserve. The aroma is essentially non existent. Light biscuit, I guess. Transparent golden body with creamy, foamy nitrogenated head. Good lacing. Starts with a cardboardy character. Mild sweetness in the middle. Slight vanilla. Some chalky character in the middle. Finishes with a rubbery, pool toys flavor. Nothing really enjoyable about this beer.
