COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fairhope’s No. 51 is a classic American pale ale, brewed with a combination of American-made Falconer’s Flight hops and German hops. Named for being the 51st recipe entry into head brewer Dan’s beer notebook, this pale ale is packed with hop flavor but not overly bitter. Though this crisp, flavorful beer was 51 in Dan’s notebook, we expect it to be your top choice for a pale along the Eastern Shore.

>> Pours a low haze orange with low to no foam. Nose is sticky orange gummies, neutral lemon, no aromatic hops, cereal grain. Taste is potpourri, dry, watery, orange peel. Potpourri bitter in the end to the point of a near chemical bitterness. No body to offset either.

Fairhope #51 is a decent session pale. Moderate floral hop aroma coming off a dark hazy orange pour with a frothy head. Taste is less floral with more of a bitter bite on the back end than expected from a pale ale. #51 is just an average pale ale good for drinking with food.

On tap, pours a golden caramel with a 1" white bubbly head. Nose is slightly fruity with a hoppy ending. Medium heavy carbonation with a nice bitter bite. This is a really good beer. It's light enough to have a few but still full bodied and complex. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

7/27/13. On tap at the brewery. Hazy amber pour with a nice khaki head. Citrusy malts, not too bitter, a definite hint of DMS and possibly pool water. Lightly bitter flavor with grassy and citrus malts. Lingering dry bitterness. Not bad.
