3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sebletitje (4394) - Enghien, - JUN 9, 2010
33cl bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Switzerland. Lot# LG044
pours dark brown, tan, effervescent fizzy head.
aromas, light chocolate malt, yeasty and bitterness come through followed by hints of dark fruits.
flavors, light roasted malts, bitter chocolate, lightly fruity, carbonation is again way too high to really enjoy the mild malty profile of this beer. Possibly some hints of licorice.
Enjoyable, light and thin body, could be rated much better if only the carbonation wasn’t so high.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Allen (2469) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 23, 2008
Bottled 33cl. Quick dissapearing head. Dark chocolate, vanilla, leather, lemon peel, mushrooms, oak, white pepper, vinegar and manure in the nose. Acidic taste. Roasted malt accompanied by mushrooms, vanilla and lemon peel. Extremely dry. Light bodied. Watery. The finish is very dry with huge amounts of heather, plums and dark chocolate. Poor lacework. Decent and unusual. An atypical porter. Thanks bov for this beer!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 oh6gdx (16047) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 30, 2007
Bottled (thanks Bov!). About half bottle left when received, apparently the pressure has been so high the cap has leaked. Still gave a good "poof" (bigger than fizz) sound when opened. colour is very dark brown with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, sour coffee and some apple. A bit vinegarish also. Flavour is extremely sour with some roasted malts. Much smoke in it too, along with a vinegarish finish. Vinegar and yeast along with wet smoked wood stays long in the aftertaste. Rather interesting thing.

A brown beer with a beutiful light brown head. The aroma is of fish, chocolate, and sour coffee. The flavor is sour with notes of malt and smoke. A very weird and not very pleasant porter. But I'll still send out a thanks Alex (fiulijn) for trading this one with me.
