33cl bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Switzerland. Lot# LG063 @ 9.5%abv. pours dark brown, light tan head. aromas, dark malts, dark bitter chocolate. flavors, roasted malts, boozy and warming mouthfeel. Bitter chocolate and could not help but detect some spices. For this kind of abv, the beer had a carbonation that was too high and did not fit with the whole Imp Stout profile, as was the overly yeasty finish. Some dark fruits come through adding to a mix that is nice but not compelling enough to fit the imp stout style.

Bottle 330ml.

[ Trade by fiulijn ]. Clear dark dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, wood, licorice. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, wood, tobacco, dark dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20120317]

Ulfborg Scooper Smagning 2012. Near black with a small tan head. Aroma of toffee, roast malt and ash, with a bit of yeast. Cloying sweet caramel and licorice flavour with lots of alcohol and a touch of roast malt in the finish

Bottle @ FOneFan. very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel with notes of alcohol. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, chocolate, little coffee, medium sweet and a little bitter.

Bottle @ Mid March Tasting, Ulfborg 2012. Pours dark brown with a white head. Nose is chocolate and cream. Sweet and vaguely roasted. A bit of fruit and ashes and quite some evident alcohol and plastic.. Warmth. Sticky and oily.

Appearance: Basically black. Some dark tan head. Aroma: Burnt malt, dark fruit. Roasted, coffee. Taste: Dark malt, roasted. Coffee. Dark fruits. Some alcohol. Info: 330ml bottle, 8/2-2011

Bottle. Darker tan head disappears really quickly; densely dark brown that is almost black. Aroma is lightly roasted; faint whiff of booze; some dark fruits; and a very light sweetness. Tastes much more roasted than suggested in the aroma, definitely lots of roast maltiness; very faint sweetness that is more fruity than anything. Kinda thin on the palate, and some additional weight would have been good. Warming alcohol comes in as well. Nice enough brew, and nothing off about it.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Bov. Pours dark brown to black with a small, slight bubbly chocolate brown head. Aroma is wineous and roasted malt, light boozy alcohol presence too. Solid malty flavoured, wineous note and distinct alcohol presence and smoothness in mouthfeel. Lingering fruity and roasted barley malt dense flavoured finish. Nice one.

Bottled (thanks Bov!). Opaque black with no head. Aroma is is quite sweet caramel malts along with toffee, alcohol and some slight burnt notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with licorice. Way too sweet flavours to be enjoyable.

Bottled (BB 06/2010). Opaque black, no head. Very sweet, toffee, molasses aroma. Flat carbonation. Sweet molasses, beans, vegatables, caramel. Not very good impy.
