(500 ml bottle). Reddish brown colour, decent head. A drinkable dunkel, not outstanding but decent for a Swedish commercial brewer. Good with food.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 larsga (4663) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 19, 2007
Big offwhite head. Lovely chestnut brown body. Papery, grassy aroma with caramelly notes. Dry, papery caramelly taste with grainy, metallic notes. Dry, metallic, rubbery caramel aftertaste, a bit unpleasant. Partly good, but the underlying rubbery taste rather spoils it for me. (0.5l can from Systembolaget.)
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bark (255) - Linköping, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2004
The colour is clear, brown with a little hint of red. The foam is very pale beige and quite small, it dissolves into an almost invisible lid.
The smell is very malty with a burned touch. There are also some hints of dried vegetables.
The carbonation is fresh and quite strong with lots of medium-sized bubbles. The mouthfeel is refreshing.
A burned note of malt dominates the taste with a dry bitterness. There must be some caramel malt in there. The aftertaste got a touch of some shady hops and some sweetness and some fruits. Frankly, the aftertaste is surprisingly short.
This is a fine example of the “bayersk” (Bravarian) style, the only alternative to pilsner you could get in Sweden during the early 20th century. A little darker, a little more malt with a little more body.

(Bottle 33 cl) Very pretty dark golden - almost amber - with a nice, frothy head. Fresh, hoppy nose. Rather light-bodied and highly drinkable. Some weak notes of smoke and a distinct - if not exactly overpowering - bitter finish. Very well made. Vienna rather than Dunkel. 151000
