Bottle - generously shared by Bierkonig at his shop Olbutikken, which he also opened specially for a handful of us RB-ers on the Sunday of RBESG - thanks Jeppe! Brown, with no head. Super smooth stuff: thick and flavoursome. Beautiful lightness, with licorice and tobacco. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 1996 vintage.
Dark brown, no head. The aroma is a bit doppelbock-like with a rye bread explosion with traces of dates. Flavour brings notes of sweet malt(vaguely) and strawberry and finishes a little dusty or cellary.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
1996 vintage. Pours a clear brown color with almost no head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, nuts, plums and raisins. The flavor has the same elements with roasted malt added to the mix. Time has not been king to this beer and it shows especially on the palate, the body is light with an oily texture and very low carbonation. This beer must have been amazing when it was younger.

(Vintage 1996, sampled at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden). Dark murky brown, almost black. No head. Mmmmm. I can smell spices, sweet licorice, dark dried fruit, dark malt and maderia wine. Taste of dark unsweetened chocolate, spices, licorice, smoke. Fruity and vinous finish. What a beer! And it is a dunkel!!!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle from 1989) Pours dark brown. The aroma is “old” smelling with port/vinous tones of brown sugar, raisins, soy and dark bread. A smooth roast profile of dark chocolate is also present. The flavour is of chocolate, mild coffee, dark fruits, dark berries and some milky tones. The mouthfeel is watery but surprisingly clean. Lingering aftertaste of dark bread and coffee. Light bodied.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Vintage 1996 bottle.
Unclear dark brown colored, thin disappearing tan head. Very malty aroma with a sweet sugary note and dark fruit. A bit fusty and cellarish but still good. Sweet flavor, brown sugar and malt. Notes of spices and raisin. Dry from the age, but still in good shape, specially considering the low ABV. A bit thin in the body. Huge thanks to Per for this one!
