   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 16/20
Ljunkan (530) - NORWAY - DEC 27, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2009 Pours a brown color with a nice beige head. It slowly dies, leaving quite lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite interesting of caramel and spices. It got some weird "sweet" smell, almost like it could be a soda of some sort. Oh, now I know: pineapple! There is also some dried fruits. Taste is first of all quite sweet and malty with some hops in the background. It got a moderate bitterness with notes of a citrus/grapefruity hop note and pineapple. A bit spicey and quite fresh. Mouthfeel is quite filling for a lager, pretty smooth. Liquid is maybe a bit thin though. Drinkable? Yes! Probably the best beer from I have had from this brewery; Swedens biggest macrobrewery. It is quite fun they try to make something different than their massproduced, cheaply made lager beer.

Joakgust (824) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 29, 2008
Bottle, 33cl (2008) - Clear Dark red brown beer with a large dense head. The aroma is very malty although not very typical dunkel malty. hints of caramel, hops and even cooked vegetables, in a good way! Flavor is surprisingly full and here becomes more apparent of being a dunkel. Notes of smoke, coffee, some caramel and german hops.

Linnet (1088) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - NOV 27, 2008
2008 bottle, frothy beige head, deep amber colour. Aroma is malty, caramel and plenty of hoppy citric notes. Flavour is malty, spicy and with distinct bitterness from the cascade hops. I feel that the beer is just a little bit watery and lacks some of the complexity for a great rating, but still, this is the best beer from Falcon (carlsberg) I’ve had.
