2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 larsga (4682) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 1, 2009
Biggish brown coarseish head doesn’t last. Deep red-brown body with light carbonation. Faint fruity cinnamon taste with papery notes. Fairly sweet. Slightly watery, yet smooth mouthfeel. Dry papery wild berry taste with roasty smoky notes. It’s decent. Ɛ.5l can from KnutAlbert.)
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 OleR (3660) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 25, 2009
0.5 L can kindly provided by KnutAlbert. A short-lived, lightly tanned head over a clear, brown colored body. Clean, nutty, maybe bready, and somewhat grainy malt aroma. Notes of dusty hops and metal. Light malt body, not to sweet, with faint caramel, and again, some metallic notes. Noticable hop bitterness. Feels quite diluted in the mouth. Some caramellish malts in the finish.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Gr0ve (1879) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 11, 2009
500 ml can. Crystal clear copper. Medium-sized off-white head. Light nutty aroma with floral hops. Crisp light malty flavours. Hints of caramel and sugar. Grassy hops do balance the sweetness nicely. The body is also rather light, but there is enough flavour and hops here to balance. Overall this is a quite nice drinkable beer given the alcohol content and the fact that it is heavily filtered. Thanks KnutAlbert.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 KnutAlbert (4613) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 4, 2009
Canned.
Clear brown.
Sweet, malty, nutty, corn flakes. Some body here, more than most diluted Swedish beers. But it is quite thin and watery - as expected.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Kalli (502) - Falun, SWEDEN - MAY 15, 2009
From a can. Metallic aroma of grainy malts and dishwashing water. Perhaps a hint of caramel there.
Slightly roasted flavour of malts with a hint of sweetness.
A pedestrian beer but not as bad as I feared. Seeing I’m not particular to Viennas in general my final rating is rather surprising to me.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Svesse (4397) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2009
(Canned) Dark brown colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, caramel and brown sugar. Malty, grainy taste with notes of caramel, brown bread, brown sugar and wort. Fairly thin body, mainly dry. Hardly impressive, but not unpleasant. A decent low alcohol vienna for coming from a Carlsberg beer factory.
