3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ingevara (662) - SWEDEN - NOV 28, 2004
Very strong smell of cardamoom. The brew is soft and sweet, a little bit bitter, but there could have been a lot more of that. There are many other spices mixed together in this thick soup, though cardamoom is by far the easiest to distinguish. It goes well with fatty food, it goes well on a cosy night in front of the fire.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6736) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 27, 2003
Brown beer with a hazy moss-green shine; yellowish head, dense, but not very lasting. Spicey nose (cardamom before anything, brännvin glögg spices), but also piney. Taste: the Cardamom strikes again. but - there IS more, little ginger, cloves and pepper/coriander under the tonguesides. Quite some sweetness. Well-carbonated, medium-bodied. Aftertaste: well, cardamoms, of course, and a touch of bitterness that is pure spice. Very Scandinavian... I remember my own brännvin glögg parties. OK, OK, I yield. This is alcoholised cardamom cola. But, well, me, I happen to like cardamoms...
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 ante (3375) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 1, 2003
Brown colour, no head. Sweeet cardamom in aroma. Sweeeet flavour. Gingerbread, cardamom. No bitterness. Chaotic and ultra-sweet.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 rlgk (5590) - Skövde, SWEDEN - NOV 22, 2003
Darl amber, quite ok head. But this is not a beer. There is cardamom all over. Nothing else has a chanse in aroma and flavor. Very strange and I cant see how people think when they decide to make something like this...
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 veronika (410) - SWEDEN - NOV 22, 2003
Nice dark color and a rather nice head. But flavor and aroma is too clearly cardamom. Sweet. Not good.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - MAY 14, 2003
Red amber color. Spicy aroma, very strong, like a cake; cinnamon, cloves, heather. Quite sweet, malty, with the same spices, and a sharp heather character; good hop aroma in the end, even if partially hidden by the spices and herbs. Not really a traditional beer, but enjoyable on a Christmas night.
1.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 omhper (15964) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 18, 2002
Dark brown-red colour with strange airy head.
This beer is a mix of a dark lager, lemonade and spices I believe, and you can feel that. Huge, sweet cardamom aroma, syrup flavour, strange, soapy body, no bitterness.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 pilsnerrogge (2144) - Finspång, SWEDEN - FEB 8, 2002
Deep ruby colour, almost purple. Pale brown head. Big cardamom-aroma. Lots of cardamom in the taste as well. There where other spices too but i couldn’t quite recognize them. A somewhat unbalanced beer.
