3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rjsdoyle (4) - - MAR 17, 2008 does not count
Purely a gimmick beer, but a good one! Couldn’t drink more than a half, and wouldn’t want to! Worth checking out though, and having on hand to see just how hardcore the show-off at your party is!
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Stephanos (866) - NORTHERN IRELAND - AUG 30, 2011
[Tried 2007, from Bitter Virtue, Southampton]
Slightly murky brown with a fruity malt aroma. At first the beer is deceptive giving no suggestion of the fire lurking within. It does come though with heat that lasts at least half an hour.

Bottle 500ml.
[ As my UK rating # 4500 on ratebeer ]. ABV: 5.2%. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sweet berries, blackcurrant ? dried fruit - berry. Initial flavour is almost heavy berry and malt sweet and moderate bitter, finish flavor is still almost heavy and moderate bitter with a long long duration, but then comes the chili burn and it is hot hot chili warm. Quit funny it start mega sweet but end like mega mega hot chili burn. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Quit undrinkeble .. but tasty and fun to have tryed ;O() wow ! [20110819]
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 yngwie (9201) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 19, 2011
Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A muddy dark brown beer topped by a finger-thick, off-white head. Sourish aroma with some dried fruits. Extremely strong chili flavor, but with some sourish notes and a caramel like touch. Warming for a long, long time, really long. Completely useless as anything else than a small taster just to have done it. 110819

1st January 2008 Dark beer. Biting chili start leads to massive hotness and burn on the tongue and the back of the throat. Spicy beyond belief! An experience!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 crusianbeer (107) - Texas, USA - NOV 10, 2010
Ok, to start, I love chili peppers. If you don’t, do not even try this beer.
Bottle from Kris Wines in London.
This is by far the spiciest beer I have ever had.
Pours a nice dark dark brown, almost black with a finger of head.
smell is very fruity with a hint of tartness.
Taste is actually pretty fascinating, there are many iterations of it as it rolls along the palate. There is a very strong fruity presence, decent malt and smoothness from the oatmeal stout, and the finish packs a punch. This thing means business. I loved it. I was really impressed how the fruitiness comes out and is very prevalent, not sure if it comes from the chilies or not, but it is very unusual and works! Glad I had someone that loves spice to share this with, as a full bottle would be nearly impossible to finish by yourself. Again, if you don’t like spicy, DON’T TRY THIS.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 28, 2010
Bottle from Kris Wines, ABV 5.2% according to the label. Very dark brown with a small head. Sweet and slightly sour berries aroma. In the mouth it is a different story. The fruitiness is still there, but the chilli punch is quite overwhelming. Even with a bottle of water beside the glass, I am still unable to finish this beer, which is a pity, because the underlying fruit is actually quite good. Plus I am afraid to spend much of tomorrow in the bathroom. Should it be rated as a quite original beery joke or as a drinkable beer? Not sure, because the label does warn. In the end, I suppose beer is meant for enjoying, though.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 cartertr (29) - Ellensburg, Washington, USA - SEP 8, 2010
I didn’t like it. My friends kept telling me I had to try it. It tasted just like a Sharpie marker.
