2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 maeib (6637) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2008
Bottled. A hazy light orange coloured beer with a large rocky white head. The aroma has some spices and orange notes, but also an infected vinegar note. The taste is also sour and infected amongst some witbier characteristics. This is the second Fallen Angel beer I bought on the same day. Both were infected, and others have suggested the same with their bottles. It’s not good enough.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 1, 2008
Bottle from Middle Farm, East Sussex, BBE Jan 2008. Poured orange with a white head, but this was past it. Strong sour aroma, ditto the taste. The acetic character had wiped out the wheat. I wish FA would cut down their range and concentrate on improving the quality!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 22, 2007
Bottle picked up from the Dodgi Deli, Cowley Road, Oxford 18-10-07 Poured cloudy pale yellow, with a light citrus aroma. This initial taste was of dried satsuma peel steeped in this beer with lemon and a nice sourness kicking about. Rather nice Wheat Beer that was refreshing and crisp and one that I would readily look out for again.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2007 Bottled. Pours a dirty toffeeish brown swirling with detritus if you like, but initially misty orange. Heaped pillowy suds going nowhere. Citrussy, slightly acetic nose with orange peel, roast parsnip sweetness (?)and a hint of Hefewiezen-like woodsiness. Sharp, spritzy and tangy with an edge of sourness, even a trace of Bretty funk. A bit heavy on the parsnip, but the tastiest and most authentic English interpretation of a spiced Witbier I’ve encountered. Really enjoyable.
