An amber gemstone with a Dragonfly trapped inside is a highly prized and extremely valuable possession. We want you to feel the same way about this amber ale.
Crafted using a blend of six malts and lots of American ‘C’ hops it is deep amber in colour with a floral/citrus hop aroma upfront. The initial flavour hit is resinous, citrus and pine followed by a rich biscuit and caramel maltiness and finishing with a lingering bitterness.
Dragonfly tastes great on its own or with lightly spiced pasta dishes, pizza or strong cheddars. Serve at 4C to emphasise the hops or at 12C for a fuller bodied, fuller flavoured experience. No additives, no adjuncts; just four top quality, natural ingredients: malt, hops, yeast and water.
Specifications: Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal, Vienna, Biscuit, Melanoidin, Flaked Barley
Hops: Magnum, Cascade, Columbus, Chinook

Note: Until April 2014, contract brewed at Tryst.

Clear amber beer. Light citrus aroma. Sharp lemony flavour and a hoppy finish. Very refreshing too.

Pint at the Windsor. Pours muddy amber, lacy off-white head. Aroma of toffee and rubber. Lots of malt on the taste, burnt toffee, something a bit odd and musty which is on the border of interesting or horrible. Overall good but something weird in there. Wouldn’t session it.

Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Café, Halifax. Bright clear copper-amber with a thin head. Has a mildish but tasty enough tropical fruit aroma and taste with a hint of grainy malts involved.

Bottled, 500ml from House of Trembling Madness, York. Amber with white head. There is a sweetish hoppy character to this, a light toffee malt background then citru, resinous notes to the fore. Lasting palate. Pleasant.

Bottle sampled at Björn, thanks. Small beighe head. Light opaque light amber color. Piny and citrus aroma that draws towards detergent. Hoppy taste that blends well with a balanced bitterness. Big drinkabillity.

Bottle. My first from this brewery. Bronze with a small head. Pleasant citrus and hoppy flavour. A bit thin but apart from that this is a pretty impressive beer.

Pours bright hazy copper with a medium beige head. Aroma is quite floral and zesty. Plenty of citrus flavours, orange, pine, light spice, moderate sweetness, decent malt backbone, bittersweet finish. Really nice.
