The village of Kippen, nestled at the foot of the Gargunnock and Fintry hills was once home to the largest Grapevine in the world covering an area of 5000 square feet.
This pale ale has an almost vinous flavour and aroma, provided by the choicest New Zealand hops. Seriously fruity, floral and citrus, this beer showcases the best qualities of two stunning NZ hops.
Dominant flavours: Floral, citrus, tropical, fruity, bitter. Grapevine tastes great on its own or with Indian curries, spicy pizzas or chorizo. Serve at 4C for a refreshing tropical citrus hit or at 12C for a fuller bodied, fuller flavoured experience. No additives, no adjuncts; just four top quality, natural ingredients: Malt, Hops, Yeast and Water.

Malts: Maris Otter, Vienna
Hops: Magnum, NZ Cascade, Motueka
IBU: 43
OG: 1.054

Note: Until April 2014, contract brewed at Tryst.

Clear, lively golden ale. In the aroma the fruit is slightly more dominant than the hope. There are flavours of hopes and fruit but it’s quite a floral beer on the whole. Balanced very nicely and very drinkable.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body. Fruity wooden dusty aroma. Dry-sweet resiny citric taste with roasty pineapple notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish fruity roasty dusty aftertaste with citric notes. The combination of flavours doesn’t quite work for me. The roasty goes poorly with the citric and fruity. (0.5l bottle, odd bins, Edinburgh.)

Bottled, 500ml from The House of Trembling Madness, York. Clouded amber with volcanic white head. After a nearly disastrous pour, which included the near destruction of the cutlery drawer, the aroma of this calmed me down, citrusy, fruity, The flavour is of tropical fruits and citrus, clean and reasonably bitter, clean palate. Really very decent (apart from the over conditioning!).

Bottle from Hippo Beers in Glasgow. Pours hazy amber with a rocky cream head. Nice tropical fruit aroma with sweet pineapple, lychee and mango. The taste is nicely hoppy with more tropical fruits, light spice and lingering bitterness. Pretty impressed.

Bottle. Fruity flavours impact at first followed by hops. What develops is a well rounded pleasant beer that is so easy to drink. In fact its a pleasure.

Pours a clear bronze colour with a large, dense white head which remains. Aroma is mango, pine, hop resins and floral. Taste is earthy which is followed by hop bitterness, weak caramel, grapefruit and a hit of tropical fruits. Aroma makes promises which the taste cannot deliver, not wholly, but I was expecting a bit more.
