Falls City Beer is back! An old Louisville favorite has returned with a whole new recipe. Falls City Original Pale Ale is now available at dozens of local bars and restaurants. The new brew is made in the style of Falls City Pale Ale from the 1930’s. Falls City began as a craft beer in 1905, made in small batches with only the finest ingredients. As we start again, 105 years later, we are once again a craft beer with a commitment to quality and taste. AKA Falls City English Ale.

Meh, completely boring pale ale. Ok flavor, smooth and easy to drink but nothing special. Take this over mass beer I guess

Pours a hazy and quite dark gold toward copper color with a fair eggshell head that settles quickly to a thicker bubbled ring and leaves some stringy soapy lace. Nose involves some toffee malt and minty hops with hints of English sourdough yeast. Pretty sweet flavor, some bitterness. Medium bodied, carbonation that starts soft to dull and finishes active and sharp, a bit of oiliness, with a fairly dry and mildly bitter finish. It’s like heavy and light at the same time. Doesn’t seem incredibly sessionable as it would weigh a person down after a few. Not bad, but it seems like it could be pepped up by either throwing in some brighter aroma hops or just dropping the ABV and thinning it out a little so it’s more "drinkable."

12 oz. bb week 2 of Oct 2015. Cloudy orange-amber with a half inch of spongy foam on top. Smell is overripe apple, toffee, light citrus and toast. Tastes of oxidized apple, cardboard, husky grain, lime zest and a bit of caramel. Light-medium body has a nice balance and low-medium carbonation.

Aroma fruit and slightly perfumed. The flavor is similar to the aroma with a slightly sweet/beery finish.

Hazy deep gold pour with a white head. The aroma has floral hops with mild cracker notes. It has a light crisp body with lively carbonation. The taste slightly sweet with a mildly bitter finish.

One of my least favorite beers. I have fond memories of falls city having grown up in Louisville but this is not good.

12 oz bottle from DrSilverworm. Pours a slightly hazy orange golden color with a medium sized white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma and flavor have pale, dry toasted malts, faded hops, light fruity, the lightest hint of bitterness to the finish. There really isn’t much going on here good or bad.

Dried leaves, honey nose. Clear amber, thin head. Dried leaves, honey flavor. Kind of stale, but enjoyable.
