COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s here, get ready, get some. Our Wisconsin winter release is now available at your local establishment. This one’s a strong one. Kool Komrade is a traditional Russian Imperial Stout. Long on malt flavor with a pleasent hop bitterness. Wonderful to enjoy on a cold winter evening in front of the fire. Only available in limited quantities, get some before it gone.

Bottle. Poured a fairly deep mahogany with a caramel head that receded to a ring and film rather quickly. An odd, roasty sourness rode this from aroma to finish. Nose also picked up cold, watery coffee. Flavor found the coffee as well as some chalky dark chocolate. Light-bodied for the style... unsatisfying feel across the palate, and damn does that sourness bring this brew down. Blech.

Pours a thick dark brown with amber highlights. Very small oily dark tan head that fades quickly with no lacing present. Woody aroma of dark chocolate and coffee with roasted malts and some sourness. Flavor is mainly coffee and dark chocolate. Finished with a flash of sweetness followed by a lasting sourness.

Beautiful look and fill to this beer, but a sour aftertaste that is really annoying. Oh well, I guess I’ll try again with my next beer.

Pours a black color with frothy tan head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is of semi-sweet chocolate, light roast coffee, and malt. Taste is dark chocolate, roast coffee, malt, and mild hop. This beer was almost a drain pourer. This beer pummels your tastes buds with it’s sour and acrid flavors in addition to the watery finish. I had high hopes for this beer but alas it fails as an impy stout.
