Commercial Description:
Falls Porter is, in our humble opinion, one of the best available. Dark, rich, and inviting; it leaves the pallet wanting for more. Only the finest pale, chocolate, crystal and black patent malts are selected for brewing. Only traditional English hops are allowed near the brew kettle. Only during the first day of a New Moon is the secret ingredient added. The result is inky black, and opaque with an incredibly full malt aroma and taste. The fine brown head coats the lip until the last sip. The finish leaves hints of chocolate and coffee. Roast beef, and prime rib feel honored to be served with this brew.

A tolerable brew at best. Pours a dark black colour with a small tan head. Taste was very chocolatey, coffee beans and toffee. Sweet caramel aroma. Mouthfeel is creamy, finishes with subtle hops taste.

12 oz. bottle... Poured black with thin head. Aroma is smokey chocolate and slightly nutty. Taste is rich chocolate with also a smokey almond flavor. Overall a really good porter and to think this brewery is only a 1/2 hour from my house. I must have had a newer bottle because the label has improved.

First off, Oconto Falls needs to hire somebody for their labeling. As for the beer, pours a thin black liquid with a trace of head and no lacing. I’m starting to think I got bad bottles. Smells and tastes awful. Like old coffee poured into an ashtray. Again, as with the others I’ve tried from them, there is an unpleasant mineral aftertaste. On second thought, forget about improving the labels, focus on the beers. As bad as my reviews were, I do see some promise and havn’t written them off...yet.

Starts out decent -- pours dark and cola-like in a glass, with a nice head. Aroma is smoky and roasted coffee. Flavor starts nice but there is an absolutely unacceptable lemony flavor at the end. Ruins the whole damn thing.

The bottle I poured from had a much nicer label than the one shown here. This beer is a thick nearly black, dark brown ale with a slender tan head that lingers none too long. It’s got an aroma of roasted and burnt dark malts along with some bittersweet chocolate. Some old coffee and a sharp bitterness round the drink out nicely. Kind of a dry, smokey finish. Okay.
