3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at Southampton Beer Festival -05
Orange, no head, slighlty
hazy. Sweetish flowery aroma. Rather blend in the palate with
grapefruit tones. Some dry hops in the finish.

Cask@GBBF, 05. Glupy looking orange brown beer with a light and malty aroma and a full tasting, thick and not very dry flavour. Overall quite a different beer to sample.

Cask @ GBBF 2005: Amber coloured. Fluffy off white head. Sweet fruity and herbal aroma. Is quite full bodied. Very hoppy flavour with a somewhat grapish note. Herbal and light fruity. Is light bitter in the end.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Half pint pulled at the Great British Beer Festival, a slightly cloudy amber with a good sized frothy head. A beautiful aroma, fruity (berries?) and strongly hopped. The flavour is disappointingly plain after the aroma (and a little soapy), and the mouthfeel is more sour than bitter.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Banbury BF. An orangey coloured bitter which failed to deliver anything much in the aroma. The taste however was nice and hoppy. Those hops being sticky thick and gloopy. A smooth beer with a really good mouthfeel.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Cask Conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival ’05. Amber beer with lasting laced white head, cracking condition. Wow, what a beer, sulphery pungent eggy nose with a sharp citric hop aroma. Full, dry bitter beer, walloping mouthfeel and a citric fruit body. Lasts forever, juicy an absolute belter.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask@Dartford BF. Wasn’t quite the fistfull of hops i was expecting, but it was pleasant all the same. Nose is hoppy. Orangey, hop-resiny mouthfeel, sappy, but dry towards the finish, finishes a bit short.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Beer # 11 at Dartford Beer Festival, with SilkTork and Duff. A pretty decent effort from a fairly recently reopened brewpub in Derby. Amber colour. A bit hazy - presumably not settled out completely, but that didn’t have any discernible ill-effects. Lots of lemony, grassy hops in the aroma and a distinct Sauvignon-like gooseberry leaf accent. Unfortunately, I thought it fell away a bit on the palate. That’s not to say it was dull, just that the it didn’t live up to the promise that the aroma offered. Still a good beer though. Cask (gravity dispense).

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dartford Fest. Gravity. Orange colour. Fruit aroma with a hint of spice - nutmeg? This eventually vanished to be replaced with an earthy gooseberry. Superb mouthfeel. Slightly sweet backed up by flowery fesh hops. Spanking. One of the best beers of the festival.
