Cask at Royal Oak, Ockbrook. Mercy me. It’s mild but not as I know it. Thankfully. Red edged to the coal black, a hint of sweetness kept fully in check by a musky bitterness, rich fruit swelling but never bursting forth, a real mouthful that almost demended another pint and a steak pudding to go with it. Yummy stuff.
