English: This beer was a lovechild from start to finish. Born as a result of good times at Fanø Bryghus between a bunch of thirsty and ticking frenzy ratebeerians and the hospitable brewer family The Witter-Merrithews. The occasion was “Fanø Bryghus Slumber Party 2012” a really terrible excuse for a great barbecue, good beer, funny games, excellent company and….brewing a beer. The beer was developed as a joint venture with everybody allowed to join in. Then brewer FrumptyDumpty transformed the input into a functional recipe. Although brewed in the midst of the bright (well…) Danish summer we brewed a rich and potent beer for those darker days: a Belgian-style Quadrupel made with heather and rose hips. Contributors (one way or the other!): Brugmansia, Christian, Dedollewaitor, FrumptyDumpty, Papsoe, princesslala, Theis and thewolf.

Bottled. A dark amber, almost brown beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of caramel, alcohol, bread, and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and dried dark fruits, as well as hints of spices, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for this.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy opaque brown with a beige head. Overripe dark fruit in the nose with some brown sugars and alcohol. Rich body, lovely pruney with chocolate and sugars and quite some balancing hops. Nice as it is, but will probably come more together in a years time. Glad to have been there for the brew day. 131112

The 0-65 tasting. Four guys, fourteen beers, average abv 12.9%, 65 mins! Opaque brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, soft. Rich milky malt and a little chocolate. Smooth creamy milk! Tastes somewhat barrel aged. Finishes semi dry. Sumptuous and easy drinking 10% beer!

Bottle at the 0-65% Tasting, London - thanks to Ken! Pours red-brown with a creamy, beige head. Nose of moderate, dry fruits, dirt. Hugely sweet flavor with toasty sugars, plums, brown bread, yeast. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky sweet finish rife with ripe fruits, sugary bread. Crazy sweet and perhaps doesn’t have a ton of depth, but it is quite tasty. Certainly not a beer to be rushed and, unfortunately, that’s what we did. Very good, still.

Bottle. Nice to get my hands on this beer brewed with contributions (in one way or the other) by several of my friends. It pours an unclear, brown body and a decent off-white to light beige head. The aroma is a bit too much on the flowery side I think. I don’t mind flowers, but sometimes it’s too much. Herbs, caramel, dried fruits and some faint roasted notes. Full body, semi-sweet, soft. Lasting finish with toffee, flowers and some bitterness. Nice indeed. but lacking some complexity and probably a little bitterness. No off-flavors though. 130222
