3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Juseq (76) - FINLAND - JAN 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma has lots of dark roasted coffee and has chocolate and some blueberry-like sweetness. Mouthfeel is oily, smooth and thick. Taste has roasted coffee, chocolate, ash and malts. Aftertaste is roasted coffee and malts, not much bitterness. Basic tastes but all blends together, great! After warming this has too much ash and sweetness becomes overpowering, otherwise great.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 olio (4078) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 8, 2013
33 cl bottle as "Kunstner Øl No 4" @ Olutravintola Konttori, Tampere. BBE 06/2014.
Pours very beautiful deep dark color, oily texture, medium sized, rapidly dissipating, beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, tar, espresso, licorice, ripe dark fruits and caramel. Flavor of tar, dark chocolate, rye, some oat notes, dark roasted malts, licorice, some caramel and vanilla notes. Very thick and rich palate, a spoon would be appropriate if a beer gets thicker than this. Excellent and a rather complex brew.

Overall a rich and very tasty beer.

33 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori as ”Kunstner Øl No. 4”, BBE 06/2014
Quite high viscosity. Aroma is rather strong on sweet cocoa. Also some vanilla sugar. Flavour is rather rich on coffee, well roasted malt, rye and salty licorice. Somewhat sticky palate. Very rich and good, although a bit stuffy.
I thought Pikkulintu Triple IPA was Kunstner Øl No. 4, what is this I don’t even
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mjs (3609) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2013
(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 06/2014, at Pikkulintu, 20130106) The beer poured black. Its head was very small and lightly brown. Aroma had chocolate, vanilla and liquorice. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, vanilla, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had roastedness, vanilla and bitterness. The flavours of this beer suggest that the beer has been barrel aged. The label doesn’t say so. The beer did taste good but was a bit confusing.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phredrik (986) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - DEC 29, 2012
Bottle from Vinspecialisten. Pours insane black with a brutal dark brown head. Aroma has the "Ryan" signature maltiness - sweet and roasted with a side note of something ashy or burnt. Lots of chocolate and cocoa notes, like really sweet aroma, chocolate ganache, brownie and vanilla as well. Taste is rather sweet - huge maltiness with medium roasted black malts, all kinds of chocolate and burnt caramel notes, huge vanilla presence, creating a real milkshake like quality together with the chocolate. A true desert beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 faroeviking (10274) - FAROE ISLANDS - OCT 11, 2012
Botella from KingCecil, huge thanks matey! Pitch black, thick light brown head, medium, well lasting, good lacing. Sweet very roasty malty chocolate dark fruity aroma. Good thick pleasant mouthfeel. Lovely flavour of well roasted malt indeed with chocolate, licorice, some coffee, dark fruits and a good bitterness. Long lasting finish of roasted malt with lots of chocolate, sweet.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 POLK (1884) - Hørning, DENMARK - SEP 22, 2012
210812: Many love this imperial stout from Fano I tasted it after having probed me with food from a good resturant which can not be recommended. This coal black chocolate bomb with its so roasted flavor that it gave notes of a black garbage bag. Sweet beer but too much, on a full stomach.

Bottle at home. Pours opaque black with a creamy Brown head. The aroma is hard roasted malt, charcoal, coffee and liquorice. The flavour is very intense, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, soy and light tar. So smooth and creamy texture. Sweet roasted finish. Would love to try this after 3 months in Wild Turkey barrels.
