Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, soy sauce, and some vanilla. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, soy sauce, vanilla, roasted malt, and a bit of coffee, leading to a bitter and roasted finish, where the alcohol also tickles the tongue. The body is thick.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black - thick and syrupy - with a small brownish head. This almost pours like motor oil! Sweet syrupy roast in the nose - and quite some vanilla. Thick, fat roasty body with sweet chocolate, prunes and vanilla. Quite some malt bitterness, some licorice appearing late as well. A massive Imperial Stout that never gets cloying. Very well done Ryan! 150812

On tap at the King William IV - Witterfest. Opaque black beer, little tan head. Viscous soft palate - airy. Nice rich unsweet chocolate. A little coffee and a trace of vanilla. The soft palate keeps going, airy too! Tangy dark fruits bring up the rear. Soft semi dry finish. Nice.

On tap at Fairbar. A small, dense, dark tan head sits on top of a black body. The aroma is quite peaty, with liquorice, Islay-like boozyness and a touch of cocoa. It’s oily, full-bodied and warming on the palate, and really, really creamy. And oily. Some tar in the quite sweet flavour, but roasted, tending toward burnt, malts and peat dominates. Liquorice and some cocoa too. There seems to be some hoppy bitterness, but I’m not really sure. Lasting warming and Islay-like finish. I’m normally not very fond of peaty imperial stouts, but this was very nice. 120820
