The aroma is quite peaty, with liquorice, Islay-like boozyness and a touch of cocoa. It’s oily, full-bodied and warming on the palate, and really, really creamy. And oily. Some tar in the quite sweet flavour, but roasted, tending toward burnt, malts and peat dominates. Liquorice and some cocoa too. There seems to be some hoppy bitterness, but I’m not really sure. Lasting warming and Islay-like finish. I’m normally not very fond of peaty imperial stouts, but this was very nice. 120820

33cl, as Gorm (handwritten on the bottle), no mention of ABV, new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2012, with chocolate, thx to thewolf!, very complex sweet Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly fruity/spicy, yet not too heavy, very balanced, cloudy, good head, top class!

Intensiv schokoladiger Antrunk, vollmundig. Das Bier schmeckt in weiten Teilen wie flüssige Schokolade, dickflüssig, Kakao. Dabei ist kurzfristig der Alkohol erkennbar, er wirkt aber nur wärmend und wird durch das Malz sofort wieder verdrängt. Im Abgang geringfügig süß. Wow! 8/14/9/13//13

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a deep brown head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt and vanilla. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with a little malt bitternes along with an alcohol touch. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and flat to soft CO2. An exceptional impy stout. ★★★★

Roasted malt, dark chocolate, coco and mild alcohol in the aroma.
The flavour is very burned and dry. Lots of roasted malt. Tasty and heavy.

Lovely rich darkish chocolate aroma, some chocolate cake, big and bold, but also soft and welcoming. Black, and the darkest head since old koff porter. Loveloy smooth palate, just staying clear of slickness, but with moussey carbonation. Initial tastes are quite mellow with the burntness, but the ashiness does build over time. Vanilla does help keep it mellow, but it can’t beat the enormous roast. finish is burnt, and sticky. It’s not lacking hops, there’s quite a bitterness to it but sometimes burntness and old hops overlap. Very nice.

Bottled. Pitch black beer, pours oily and has minimal head. Deeply roasted, slightly smoky nose, licorice, dark ripes, dark syrup and a hint of vanilla. Insanely malty. Flavor starts syrupy sweet, continues with a hint of balsamico. Slightly tarry and salty finish has generous bitterness, sligthly sweet/fruity hop flavor and very dark chocoalte. Slightly sugary finish and acidic roastedness. Extremely full bodied, oily mailtiness, thick and lush. If you like your IS really malty and you don’t a little sweetness, this is yours!

Bottle 0.33l from Oluthuone Leskinen, Oulu. Colour is brownish black with tiny brown head. Aromas and flavours are chocolate, coffee, vanilla and roasted malts. Fabulous.

Pours pitch black with a nice dark brown foamy head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts and hints of vanilla and cocoa. Taste is strongly roasty, almost burnt, with notes of cocoa, ash, vanilla and dark chocolate. Finish is roasty and sweetish with some cocoa and chocolate notes. Okay, quite heavily roasted imperial stout.
