Keg @ Witterfest ’12, King William IV. The pour’s deep brown with a thick tan head. An attractive beer. The aroma’s bursting with roast coffee bean flavos. Quite grassy and brash. Some notesof tangy white wine barrel sweet sugars. The taste is more roasted coffee beans, woody pine, chocolate syrup and floral hops. Bitter. This is a big-boned beer. Rich. Very tasty.

Keg at Fanø Meet the Brewer, King William IV. It pours jet black, with a massive tan head. The nose is fresh pine, strong citrus character, orange, lime, marmalade and roasted malt. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, toast, liquorice, burnt treacle, citrus pith, salted caramel and tar, with a bitter, roasty finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome, bold and rather delicious.

(on tap @ Fanø Bryghus) Pours tar black with medium, otffee head. Beautiful lacework and good retention. Aroma is floral hops, coffee and roasted malt. Oily, resiny texture, full body with soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Dark bitter taste that seems more hoppy than roasted malty. Very good but slightly hard to fully enjoy on a sunny day.

Tap @ Fanø.
Pours completely black with a small, creamy, beige head - nice duration. Aroma has citrussy hops, liqourice, chocolate and nuttiness. Medium carbonation, dry and light creamy to oily mouthfeel. Flavour has liqourice, nuts, fat dark chocolate, firm citrus bitterness. Pleasantly balanced.

On tap. Pours an opaque black with a thick and creamy light brown head. Very fresh citrusy hop aroma atop a bed of roast. Medium body, heavy roast, licorice and a solid hoppiness. Does perhaps get a little medicinal when you dig into it. Bitter finish from both roast and hops. Delish. 280712

Tap @ dronning Louise. Pitch Black with a small long lasting beige head. Aroma is: lovely sweet liquorice, dried fruits, nice grassy and fruity hoppy aroma as well, earthy chocolate, dusty, oak and sweet vanilla, dark caramel, lovely smooth complex aroma. Medium Mouthfeel, smooth with a kick of crispy hops. You get the roasted fruity sweet and earthy chocolately notes first. Liquorice, and some coffee. Then the hops hits you with loads of spruce, resin and pine. Grassy notes, orange peel and peach. Ends dry with a lovely mix of sweet and bitter grapefruity notes. A lovely complex marriage. Drinks very well
