On tap. Pitch black with a small light brown head. The nose has hard roasted malts, a little coffee and a vaguely tart touch. Rather light body, dry hard roasted malt with a malty bitter finish and again a tartish touch. Clearly past its prime but still drinkable. 240710

Tap @ Fanø Tasting, 2010.
Pours completely black with a big, frothy, beige head. Fine duration. Aroma is vinious, liqourice, dry and oxidized. Highish carbonation, fine light and rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is quite oxidized - especially at first - nice dry, chocolate, cocoa powder and light tartness. Actually quite drinkable depite the old feel to it.

I can tell that this probably used to be a really great beer, but I don’t know that it’s aged very well. That being said, it’s not terrible. It has a nice cocoa aroma, that is matched in the flavor. It’s gotten a little dirty and winey in the flavor, but overall it’s not too shabby.

Tap at Fanø Bryghus courtesy of Frumptydumpty. Nice head with medium duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are mainly licorice, but also some roast malt and caramel. Beer has not matured as well as I had hoped and has become slightly sour and a little vinous.
