Originally brewed in 2009, brought back by popular demand for the first time since 2012. Brewed with the assistance of Fanø’s Oyster King, Jesper Voss. A traditional British Stout, with strong roasted malt character and hints of coffee and caramel. Brewed with both oyster liquor and whole oysters from the Wadden Sea gives this full bodied beer the unique aroma of the ocean with a slightly savory mineral finish.

16oz pour at Fermentoren pours a watery but opaque black with some cloudy, tan head. Nose is really nice, earthy, a distinct minerality, almost briny, malty, toasted bread. Flavor is sweet, malty, light licorice, nutty, bread, very light chocolate. Medium bodied, clean dry finish. Session beer.

Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. Pours deep brown with a mediumm white head. The nose is light nut and mocha. The taste is tinny oyster, chocolate, roasted malts and light smoke. The body’s medium. Overall, I find that oyster stouts often contain some tinny notes that don’t agree with me. This isn’t different.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured an opaque brown with a small, fading light tan head. Grainy coffee & roasted malts with salt & dark chocolate aromas. Salt, coffee, roasted malts on the tongue. Quite a light body and has some good flavours going on but perhaps there’s a bit of oomph missing in the mid palate. Crisp, dryish mouthfeel with a lingering burnt, ashy finish.
