Bottle from Systembolaget (stored in the cellar for a while). Smoke, coffee and dark bread on the nose. Similar taste. Nice balance between flavours. Not to much smoke which I think is a good thing.

lortsker (332) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2013
Bottle from Fanø Bryghus. Beautiful looking beer, pours Pitch Black with a small espresso brown head, that quickly disappears. Nice lacings as well. Aroma. Intense vanilla, sweet malts, chocolate, molasses, caramel, some dusty notes as well, very faint boozy note, some grassy and earthy notes coming through as well. Taste follows through but not as sweet as you would think, considering the aroma. A lot more dry, and with plenty of roasted bitterness, you get a hint of smoke as well. Good balance between malty sweetness, vanilla, milk chocolate and dry roasted bitterness and grassy notes. Very good

Scopey (6713) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2013
Bottle thanks to Enjoyit. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The nose is salted caramel, roasted malt, rich coffee, smoke, liquorice, umami aspect and chocolate. The taste is rich-roasted malt, salted liquorice, espresso, dark fruit, plum, red grape, prune, raisin, wood, chocolate, light smoke, earth and alcohol warmth with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body, medium carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich and luxurious, yet remains very drinkable. Well integrated flavours. Smoke not as strong as expected, perhaps faded after some time. Delicious!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black in color with small tan head. Like pouring motor oil into you engine. Light smoke, some ham and wood in aroma. Salty licorice, burnt wood, some smoke and hints of ash in taste. Smoked and burnt wood in aftertaste. Thick and heavy, but yet it feels quite easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a dark tan head. Aroma is of smoke, I get campfire smoke, some meaty smoke like smoked ham and sausage, burnt and ashy notes, coffee, roasted malt, dark fruits and dark chocolate. Flavor follows the nose with lots of campfire smoke, burnt wood, some slight meaty smoke again smoked ham comes to mind, more sweetness in the flavor of chocolate, and dark fruits, coffee and again the burnt notes. The body is full with a nice creamy mouth feel. Overall a pretty nice Smoked Imperial Stout.
