Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

33cl bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Pours opaque black and sticky with a gorgeous big crema. The nose has fresh strawberries and biscuits - maybe jammy dodgers. There’s also dare I say it, a cough medicine note or something herby. Eventually, as you go down the bottle, it’s giving a smokey/charcoal note at the end. The taste has savoury, maybe even meaty, then leading into toffee and nuts, it’s praline! If I’m being picky, it’s a bit cloying but with the richness in the body and the texture it’s not going to be clean, but good length all the same. Overall, an excellent multi-dimensional beer.

Pours a black beer with a beige head. The aroma is malt, licorice, coffee, chocolate, roasted and some smoke. The flavor follows the nose with additional sweetness. The palate is bold with sweetness. Overall a good beer.

18-AUG-2012, bottle @home, from Ølbutikken. Black with lasting high brown head. Smoked aroma with alsto roast, coffee, chocolate, and spegepølse. Very full, very smooth. Fantastick smoked IRS.

Dark brown coloured beer with a creamy beige head. Aroma is vinous mixed with roasted malts. Flavor is roasted malts, liquorish, dark fruits, chocolate, coffee going into a slightly smoke bitter finish. Heavy palate and very long finish. One of my favorites.

12oz bottle purchase from Olkonsortient (sp?) Aalborg. Black with dense molasses head. Bit of chocolate in the nose but overall muted. Chocolate, whiskey, roasted flavors. Smooth and crisp carb. Nice beer, just not overwhelmingly interesting.

0.33 l bottle. Black color. Sweet aroma with coffee, salty licorice, tar and wood. Sweet rich roasty flavor with smoke, coffee, salty licorice, wood, tar and bitter chocolate. Bitter, woody, smoky and roasty finish. Full body, fairly woody palate. Very complex and still in balance, very tasty.

Bottle @ Rene’s house, picked up at Fano. Black appearance with a brown head. Rich anise, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasty coffee aroma with a hint of booze. Rich cocoa, vanilla syrup, roasty dark chocolate malty, lightly smoky, mild espresso flavor. Nice brew!

Bottle: Thanks Papsø: Pitch black pour, pitch black beer in glass with an almost pitch blackish brown medium sized vast amd slow disappearing (some dark brown islands) head. Guess together with Mikkellet George, theae twouat have been the best looking imperial stouts encountered! Get a watery mouth, let’s taste this one! Smell roasted barleys, toffee, caramel, flowers, chocolate, coffee, coffee roast, creamy and softly/gentle burn or smoke something... Very light but something burned is.  Taste is inmense, deep and complex. A briliant mix of roasted barleys, roasted malts, coffee, dark chxolate, roasted herbs, a light smooth and hentle hit if liquorice, lot of smooth roast, a hint of dark fruitS, Some Spices, light warmth but no alcohol (which the alcohol not there is good!) and some light smoke ashy somethingvut so well balanced. Smoked malts... Very nice bitter. Aftertaste is lovely dark chocolate, some creamy notes, light to medium bitter, fine coffee roast and some grass. Delicious. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, full bodu abd a light creamy but more oily texture. This beer is truely amazing, suprenely balanced, smooth and deep! Damn this is good! Divine! So smoothly balanced, no irritating nasty bitterness no irritating oatmeal. Just a good roast with smooth chocolate and coffee.
