Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2004 Looks like a Caffrey’s when it is poured, but the head just disappears - even though it almost blew a hole in my cealing when it opened itself. The aroma is yeasty and spicy. The flavor is of yeast and cinnamon - especially the cinnamon has been put in, in enormous amounts. This is too much for me. Papsoe (11062), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 27, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful reddish beer, slightly hazy with a decent head. Typical Fantome spicyness although I cannot pinpoint which spices. Some hints of licorice. Nice. 240501 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 7, 2004 Bottled. Cloudy orange. Light estery fruit aroma with a touch of menthe. Funky and lively, medium dry with light sparkling moutfeel. Lightly resiny finish with some bitterness. Complex. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 11, 2003 Hazy, vibrant cherry with perfect foam. I have to use the word vibrant to describe bright colours because some dumbass decided "bright" was a cute way to say "clear" and now bright forever shall refer to clarity rather than intensity of colour. Fresh yeasty aroma - leather, sweat, cherry, glazed pear flan, styrians (?). Starts with juicy malts, kindling, sandalwood incense (unburnt), warming alcohol underneath, plus dashes of dried apricots, fresh bread, prunes. Dry palate - minerally, finish both alcoholic and hoppy but not too much of either. Like the Wolnzacher Hell I had a few days ago, this beer is beautifully subtle - nothing clubs you over the head but you know immediately that you're drinking kick ass beer. joergen (6814), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 4, 2007 Bottle at bier circus 2002-vintage.
