CapedBrewsader (179), Brasschaat, Belgium Jun 16, 2008 75cl bottle at home: murky pure amber beer with a yellowed creamy lasting head. Good lacing. Aroma of spice and yeast. Almost a cinnamon note. Citrus pith. Some hints of caramel and maybe some raisin. A faint vinous note and some "ashy" earth. Lightly musty. Tangerine flavor with smooth herbs. Nice herbal and sweet balance. Earthy malt mix hiding in the back. Also hop in back with yeast. Long tangerine and hop finish. Very light touch of alcohol in the end. JensenTaster (1480), Denmark May 14, 2008 (on bottle) Golden red, beige head, very nice aroma of cellar, mould and vanilla. Full mouth, tart, strawberry and an odd, cheesy finish. Too many different players tastewise for me. Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Apr 28, 2008 75cl bottle. Thank you TheWolf/Rene. My 400th Belgium rating. [at dedollewaitor’s Odense tasting]
Pours deep redish brown with a medium, frithy yellow-beige head. Fine lacing. Aroma is wonderfully spiced, some vanilla, some thyme, weak woodiness and apples. Low carbonation at first, but lives up in my mouth. Flavour is softly fruity tart, good apple tones, rather crisp and a fine caramel background. Quite earthy and dry finish.
