Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 4, 2004 As a lot of Fantome beers this one really wanted to get out of the bottle, so the cork blew off. An unclear yellow beer with particles of yeast floating around and with a huge white head with small spot of spices. The aroma is sweet with notes of spices especially cinnamon, but also with fruity notes of lemon. The flavor is sweet with a slight acidic lemony background and notes of spices, citrus, and hops giving it a slightly bitter end, where the alcohol also makes its presence known by leaving You with a warmth in the mouth, but the alcohol is well hidden. The mouthfeel is very smooth. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 20, 2006 [Bottled] Hazy golden. Striking aroma of pear and winegum. Medium sweet with wonderful, elastic mouthfeel. Juicy and intense, an ultraperfect world classic in it’s own style. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 27, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful dark golden beer with a nice head. Sweet and sour nose with notes of anise and several other undisclosed spices. A lovely and very complex brew. 100401 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 15, 2001 Updated: May 8, 2003On tap @ Monk's Hazy, effervescent, straw coloured. Fresh, fruity aroma - pears, spice. Very bitter palate, dry, yeasty. Slightly ashy astringency. Fresh fruits. Served a little too cold, and maybe it's just the beer but I wonder if it suffered from not being bottle-conditioned, because it was the least complex, least inspiring Fantome I've had. Good thirst quencher, though, and I dig the assertive hopping. I just think there might be better ways to serve it. joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 21, 2006 Bottle.
