BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA Apr 12, 2008 Palest of orange color, cloudy with bubbly white head.
Intoxicating fruity perfumes began to fill the air immediately as I popped the cork on this one. Smells of strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry, tangerine, sweet tarts, juicy fruity deliciousness.
Taste is like a milder version of the nose. It is hard to believe that theres not fruit added to this beer, the fruit impression is so strong. Smell is strongly strawberry or cherry but the flavors I get are more orange or lemony sweet tarts. Almost sour! Gooood.
Mildly acidic, light-moderate feel with low carbonation. This beer is immensely drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable.
m4rest88 (15), Beverly Hills, California, USA Jul 26, 2008 This beer pours with a large head that is fizzy in appearance. The head color is white with excellent lacing. The head longevity is mostly lasting and the body of the beer has a murky, cloudy appearance. The body hue is a medium yellow color.
The initial flavor is sweet and the finish is lightly yeasty and bitterey.
The body is light to medium according to the palate and the texture is dry. The carbonation is lively and the finish feel is slightly metallic. BMan1113VR (669), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pours with a thick white head covering a hazy yellow body shimmering with small particles. Really strong lacing. Aroma is amazingly fruity with strong notes of strawberry (a first in a beer for me), madirin oranges and black pepper. Lightly fruity, and agains trawberry taste that ends yeast and peppery. Lively bubbles. undsioux7 (466), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours orange/gold with small white head. Aroma of horseblanket, funky basement, yeast and oak. Taste is grassy, slightly sweet, tart, lemon, citrus, pepper, spice, heavy yeast. A bit heavy for me for a saison, but still good. JCB (889), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 18, 2008 750ml from my Secret Santa, tytoanderso - thanks, Tyler! Long a favorite, this one is even better than I remember. A deep honeyed, golden/orange pour with a decent head and nicely sticky lacing, the aroma is so strong and funky. Initial sour notes give way to a very complex yeast character that is musty, vinous, and reminds me of lovely goat cheese somehow. Deliciously light on the palate, with zesty hops enlivening the whole. Man, this stuff just rocks. hellbilly (796), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Jul 17, 2008 tasted with the phoenix crew. provided by superdave70... pours a hazy straw color with a small white head and light drippy lacing. distinct bubble gum on the nose... dusty straw, light skunky hops, pale malt, lemonade, minerals and a touch of funkiness. barely sweet on the palate... lemon, lots of yeast (especially in the aftertaste), a little grass, fruit, must/funky dryness and lots of earthy twig-like bitterness. acidic and spicy finish. high carbonation, medium body gets nice and thick toward the bottom...
