3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brett and lime, slightly horsey. Cloudy, amber, medium head. Tangy, lemon flavor. Lime finish. Very clean, well balanced. Fantome is really hot and cold for me, but this was solid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ The Charlottesville Tasting. Thanks to Gene, the worst rater on RB. The pour’s deep gold with an eggshell white head. Nicely bright herbal nose. Smoked tea, tarragon and compost. Lemon poppyseed cake. A touch of soap. A shock of bright lemon flavor. Some acidic apple skin. Dirty unwashed herbs. Smoked oregano on the finish. Light and zippy. Refreshing, summery. Overall, a bit shaggy, but quite tasty. Nice stuff.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Corked bottle shared by Travlr at the April 5, 2014 Charlottesville tasting. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a thin fizzy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toasted nutty notes, honey, spice, herbal notes, bright citrus. The taste is honey, citrus, herbal spice, almost thyme. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, lingering tartness. Nice.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nose: spicy yeast, coriander, citrus, malt, a sour note (vomit, but not too obtrusive).
Taste: spicy, malty, a bit sour. A hint of wheat. A " dirty" beer, but not unpleasant.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Three Penny Tap Room on 3/15/14
Still pour reveals a few bubbles quickly receding to the edge atop a lightly hazy, deep orange-amber body.
Punchy sourness in the nose has notes of yogurt, pine? and smoked paprika along with a light citrus undercurrent. What in the world? It’s almost like a Sahti, with the light smoke and lactic notes. Some sweetness creeps in there as it warms; sweet, bready medium malts but still enough acidicy and lemony-like citrus to keep it fairly well balanced. No alcohol or flaws noted. Medium strength of aroma, no doubt lessened by the lack of carbonation.
A burst of sweet and sour upon first sipping, which is very full in the mouth and as the dust settles, smoke phenols mix with lightly sweet caramel malts growing sweet and strong, only to be washed away by an aceto-lactic acidity that is bright and refreshing. Again, very Sahti-like in the flavor and even despite it’s slick, oily mouthfeel and near complete lack of carbonation (there is just a touch, thankfully), the smoke phenols are so well-integrated and the acidity keeps the palate clear enough that I can’t be but deeply intrigued. As is, I had no problem drinking it and continued to enjoy it more and more as the bottle warmed and wore on. Plenty of complexity, with definite herb undertones and all the Fantome funk you could ask for.
If this had carbonated, it seems like it would be in the high 4s. You never know, though. Hard to tell what something would taste like under completely different conditions.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle shared at the January 2014 tasting in Santa Cruz. Ashy smokey tobacco, phenols, sweet and sour sauce, vinegar, citric acid, bile, chemicals. Uhhhh no.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle aged for a year, poured into tulip. Pours a nice amber with no head, albeit maybe just an almost non-existent patch of "foam". As far as aromas go, this is really into farmhouse territory...! A bit of green apple, some ripened cheese crust, barnyard. Taste is relatively sour, with some background sugar to help round the brew off. Body is medium-light, with a slick-thin texture. Carbonation is practically non-existent. Finish is sour/astringent, and medium-short in length. Overall, a good, interesting brew, but no necessarily worth its 22 US$.

Light unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy yeasty, saison yeast, herbs, flowers, funk notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, candy, spicy - herbs, lemon - citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.

[5276-20130427] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Bandaid smoked grains aroma. Slightly hazy, bright pink orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Smoked grains and bandaid notes continue in the flavour with a sour base. Medium body. Very good, but not a fan of that smoked bandaid sourness overall. (7/4/7/3/15) 3.6

Still gold pour, zero head. Zero carb. But tasty. I think its 100% ok with no carb. Earthy funky flavors up front, some nice yeasty qualities, unripe stone fruit, floral notes. Neat beer. Thanks to FSUveritas!
